Dave, the pot came today and I have your host/heatsink with driver ready to go for your 8X diode!
100 ohm, 4 turn, 1/2 watt pot: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=3339h-101-nd
The driver is set to 125mA. You can turn it up from there. Using a 100ohm, 4 turn, 1/2 watt pot, it is a nice driver for any current between 12.5mA's and 400mA's... (it can adjust higher, because there is no series resistor in the circuit, but it is only rated for a max of 400mA's)
I know that you don't need this reminder, but it doesn't hurt to mention it... Make sure you discharge the cap before you connect the 8X diode! Because in this circuit, the cap and silicon diode are built-in, instead of at the diode...
Can't wait to see your results with the 405-G-1 glass lens! (it will be in the package as well)
