Ive seen that many times, it real strange at night. I've seen it walking on the beach too, around my footsteps.
 





So after further testing, all my light-switch covers leave tracers, but none of the electrical outlet covers do. It's a shiny, pale-white plastic, doesn't scratch easily, and is slippery. If I get really ambitious, I may take them off and see if there are any markings or clues as to what type of plastic it is... :na:
 
Waha, its real! our light switches GITD too! and the power outlets a bit, but not so bright and long as the switches. besides, the dual-switches dont glow, only the single ones!

But more faszinating was when i shined it on the displays of our old VCR, DVD Player and the rather new DVB-C Receiver. last one has 7 Segment green LED display - but why the heck the dark segments glow blue when got hit with 405nm? would understand it with White LED's (besides, grab your Cree flashlight now and laser on the chip die - crazy bright yellow light!!!) but so? im confused. but i was more confused when the colored parts of the dvd player display began to shine in their real color. i always thought these were LED too or even simpler LCD with background lighting. butt no, there is some fluorescent shit inside! So i googled and found out all the old TV Appliances had "Vakuum Fluorescent Displays" (VFD) in them. Madness

Try anything that has phosphors. TV, cathode tube displays, and I just noticed fluorescent tubes glow too, though I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

The water inside of my saltwater tank fluoresces a yellowish green.

Next ting you should try: lase on everything while wearing yellow sunglasses!

you will be amazed by much things changing the spots' color even without glowing

I got a 10mW BR pen just for the purpose of fluorescing things.

Many many things, (almost all organic matter, btw) will fluoresce if often weakly. I believe by using my BR Goggles they are often best seen. :cool: -Glenn
 
I have a few old projection teles in my house, I shined my 5mW 405nm at it and the afterglow stays for just long enought to be seen in complete darkness. I also noticed that some orange paper (in school-suspension slips-LOL) leave a great afterglow. -can't wait to try the pickles!
 
I tried my new BR pen on my jar of pickles... indeed the beam goes through the brine with a pinkish orange glow... but what completely blew me away was when I pointed the laser at my bottle of Newcastle beer, it fluoresces... bright bluish green!!! Awesome!

Try the red ink that they use for printing the scan codes and postage info on envelopes in the US.
