That's nothing. I've got some goggles with OD30+ ratings for some of the wavelengths, mostly at near-IR and UV. They have a nice drop in attenuation (to OD6) around 694nm, which makes them useful for looking at eclipses and stuff where the sun looks like a dim greenish object.

If you're patient and persistent, eBay is great for getting inexpensive surplus laser goggles.

You can see in the picture that most of them are Laser-Gard goggles very high quality brand
newer ones of this brand are sold for +200usd at edmund optics

Lots of good deals over at aliexpress.com I think there are so many under-rated sellers , they have huge inventory and great prices,

Recently I had a need to purchase amc drivers, This was the only place that had all kinds including the ones with 1-Mode ones that I basically wanted.

The problem with AliExpress is that it's like eBay, only without a reputation system that you can be sure of. It's so hit or miss. It would be nice to have a list of tried-and-true AliExpress vendors to buy some stuff through.

Good advice BB :beer: The rep. system is there I believe it was established recently. The easiest way to get the tried-and-true product is to
a) Search for a Product "Best Match"
b) Arrange by no. of Orders (placed in last 6 months)

the best selling product , is usually the cheaper and faster shipped, will appear as #1 and it has plenty of feedback from all over the world. Unless it's a unique product offcourse,

To double check it, send the seller a message :D

The buyer protection is quite similar to ebay interestingly. For the peace of mind, Aliexpress.com charges you the money and holds it untill you recieve the product in good shape, Otherwise seller will be fined and may have action taken against his store. IMO this has resulted in rather a great improvement.

Won the Ar/Kr air cooled whitelight!

It's an air cooled 208V Ar/Kr MG 643. Has green killing optics, but still has red, blue, and yellow from the 568nm line, so we're good. Not tunable, but I could care less :) Very excited to add this piece to the collection! Just hope it works!

Well it's 208V, and they don't have a controller, and it's not jumpered, so they are putting it under that as a cover in case it doesn't work since they can't test it. It's a gamble, but I'm feeling lucky. Looks in good condition :)
