PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I know the SSY-1 1064 nm laser rangefinder YAG uses a etalon, but most 1064 nm YAG systems I've seen don't use them. Wondering if this part might be useful for my YAG hobby, once I get to building.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The guy who is selling these doesn't know much if anything about them. Etalons are used at an angle to tune the lasing medium for a specific wavelength. They work in a way similar to a Brewster's window and are placed between the the YAG and the HR mirror.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I don't know that I need a 1064 nm Etalon, but I don't see ones like this on ebay very often, so trying to research if I need one for my projects or not.

You very likely don't need one unless you're going for ridiculous amounts of SLM/long coherence length power.

Oh my lord, more to study.

This is true. Etalons are used in holography to increase the coherence length of the lasers used to make them. Often times increasing the coherence length to many meters.

Wicked Laser Blue Survival 450nm High Power Focusing Burning Lazer Arctic Spyder | eBay

Not really a deal cause I don't know the power type, but I wanted to show that someone is making lasers using Survival Laser hosts and marketing them as wicked lasers. They are even using the logo for SL on the host

Edit: I have asked him about the diode, so I guess we will find out soon.

So I was searching around recently for some different wavelengths of red and came across many that advertised a huge spectrum of color, such as this 630-650 pointer. They're most likely all 650nm or somewhere close to that mark, but it might be worth a shot trying for a lower wavelength. Interested to see your thoughts.

This guy has some interesting other items: 10W and 15W 808nm c-mount diodes --good pumps for high output 589nm 0r 593.5nm yellow and a lot of others - see: laserdirect | eBay

Yep, know that seller, he already has about 1500 dollars of my pay so far.

Guess he caught you a little off-guard.

He does have a nice and unusual selection of interesting items+ is in Princeton NJ

I bought three of his 15 watt FAC corrected 808 nm C-Mount laser diodes three years ago, among other diodes, still haven't used them. Edit: My problem is finding the crystals and optics for summing 1319 and 1064 nm to make 589 nm.

It's a blanket range. The color RED is roughly approximated as 630-650nm. I have an old 635nm (Laserwave) OEM module with a label "473-1064nm". Does that mean the laser might be as low as 473nm or as high as 1064nm? Of course not. It's just a label they can slap on everything.

I can guarantee you've linked a ~655nm pen. If it were anything but, they would use the actual wavelength as a selling point.

It's in a TO-3 package too. Not a bad price at all if you are looking to get 400 mW to 600 mW of 532nm out. That seller than you bought all those FAPs from seems to sell only IR stuff. He has a lot of IR diodes, but couldn't find any supporting optics for SGH.

Any idea how hard one of these can be driven? 15 watts, higher?
