I can't tell the difference between my 520 and 532.. Honestly the only thing that looks different is the dot. 532 has a BIT of a lime tinge to it, even the beams side by side look the same. Other than that, they look exactly the same... I could post a pic and take bets on which is which, and it'd be 50/50...can't say I'm not disappointed :/

Might be that you just got a higher wavelength diode?

I really want to see this for myself, there's been so many different descriptions of the difference in hue.

That's my theory. This has to be 525+. There is honestly no difference but a slight one with the dot. Nothing like DTR's pics. I almost want to get another hoping it's lower... Or get a <515 wherever they're hiding.

Just stuck it in the freezer so we'll give that ship a sail.

much more impressive test with this lpm. Was something wrong with the other lpm causing it to read low?

Nice results. I just threw a 520 into a C6 from JayRob. 520 is a lot better than 532 IMHO. Now they just need to release some 500mW SM diodes.

that's amusing :p

hmm, though you do get close to that with the S06J's
wish I understood more about the limits of quantum well fabrication. Any expert in the house is welcome to jump in and educate us/me :anyone:

500mW of SM 520 would be sexy and a great addition to a projector. Seeing 514 or 520 next to 532 makes 532 look yellowish. I never though 532 looked yellowish until I compared it to 514 and 520.

that's crazy
At selem 2 years back when comparing 543nm and 532nm the 543nm made the 532 look blueish this makes me want to see a 520nm 532nm and 543nm.
I guess we need another beamshot room this year at selem

It's similar when I compare 473 to 488, 488 automatically looks green. Eyes are so strange :p

520nm may work better than dpss with 650nm in the beam combiners to make yellows and oranges. Someone should try it soon. Also would like to see how it combines with the Osram 450 50mw, it should mimic 488nm.

I want an Osram collection now....like all the Osram single mode wavelengths I can find.

Agreed. I've been waiting and planning a long time for this.
But I think I will have to wait a while longer because I want at least 150mW of green.
And I mean 100-150mW rated by the manufacturer diodes. Not that overpowered, reduced lifetime bullcrap.

It would be nice to finally have a collection of 405, 450, 520, 638, 660nm all with single-mode diodes. But the yellow/orange and blue wavelengths are still missing (450 isn't blue - it's indigo if you ask me :p).

So far I have 405, 520(not built but diode in hand), 650. I am about to get a 450, and then I still need to buy a 638. Finding hosts is the hard part. I want all the hosts to be the same but I also want all the hosts to be custom, not flashlight mods...I have expensive tastes, and poor wallets lol.

Same here!

BTW
Thanks to DTR for the testing! I've been watching this thread.
I made a graph the other day to help visualize the curve:
Note that the 70mA interval is not where it should be. I'm not that good with Excel.

You should add ApexProxy's results in on a different line color so we can compare. I would do it but I don't own excel.

Google Docs/Google Drive is your friend. Almost the same power as MS products in one place, for free! Plus it has many more (useful) features that MS doesn't have.
I started using it a year ago and haven't touched MS word/Excel since.

I put together a graph as best I could, and will figure out how to add a second line to it soon....
