New kid on the block? The 12x BDR-S06J

Well if they end up being like that first diode, with that slope, I'd say we have a winner! Still, you might be able to get some good leverage out of the "10x" compared to "12x" even if the former is better.

Morgan: No prob. If you're using the same mA scale, it's not hard to add more to the graph. I can also give you the Excel spreadsheet if you want it.

^I agree, it's availability and demand that ultimately brings price down. Supply/demand has mainly been in the suppliers hands until the 445s came out but now the ar*e has dropped out of the market...

It would be good if I can save a copy BB, if you don't mind.

Here's the spreadsheet I've been using. If you're wondering why the plot is huge, it's because when I copy and paste the graph from Excel to Photoshop, for some idiotic reason the Cleartype font anti-aliasing is also copied. This looks fine on my display, but might look goofy on a CRT or a monitor that doesn't use the same pixel channel ordering. So I've made the graph extra large so it can be reduced in size to 800x600, reducing the effect of the Cleartype anti-aliasing.

You can order 25 of these sleds for $45 ea. brings total invoice to $1214.80 after they charge shipping and paypal fees.

After shipping and PP fees of the buyer, it will cost the group buy leader ~$54.41 per sled to get these to the customers.

I was tempted to do a group buy, but $1200 is a very risky buy...and i'm about to start school and don't want this responsibility :D

the initial price was $50ea. for 25 pieces and $45 for 50pcs.

but i got them to accept $45ea. for an order of 25.
So i wonder if they would accept $40ea. for an order of 50?

That's about the quote they are looking at. It doesn't seem they are too keen to give me another price break for 50 though. I will look for interest when the 2nd Round for the SF-BW512L is up.

Just a pair of impressions ..... no PBS in all the sled ? ..... also, no IR diode ? (this mean, no CD, only DVD and BD ?)

Morgan,

Hmm is it the same source we got the 12X from?

(Not sure if we can mention the names here)

P.S. Oh magical Internets

P.S.S. No intentions of organizing a GB or anything, just plainly curious, cuz I just stumbled upon that sled while googling for 12x ones :)

I'm gunna be doing a SO6J build soon(sleds on the way) but its not gunna be set so high (400ma) might be set up as a lab build at first then move to a hand held.

I'll be building one in a week or so. Host is here, diode is on the way but I need to order some more drivers, aixiz modules, and batteries before I can do the build.

Has anybody tried it at greater than 500ma?
On modwerx it says you can drive it at 500 but usually they are being conservative to make sure nobodY can complain that the suggested current killed it too fast or whatever.

I forget who but theirs went LED at 575 IIRC. I plan on driving mine at 475 once my &%#@ aixiz modules and driver get here.
