My Monster 6+ watt Laser Build Has Started !






If you like to burn the way I do that sink will get hot in a few minutes, but I like it, it will get you several minutes depending on ambient air temp and cool down faster between runs, High drain cells are recommended to avoid sag, you'll draw 3 amps at 8 volts with a SXD to output 4.5a to the diode.

Here's one of my early 44's, it was finned too. :D

I'm sure with that finned heat sink..if you wave it
around over your head like a crazy guy it will cool
down even faster...:D

LOL Thanks guys ! I figured if this heat sink can keep a Overclocked Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Processor QX9770 cool it should have no problem keeping a 44 copper module half way cool, I hope ! lol

EDIT - diachi, lasersbee, Alaskan, I've just now seen your comment from your neg reps AND you 3 need to realize that all 3 of you are guilty of acting like a narcissist and if god forbid someone doesn't show you what you feel is the proper amount of respect OR act within what you consider the "proper" edict as determined by you (and for you) then look out ! I understand you all are very intelligent people and are very advanced in your receptive fields BUT people like that tend to lose all humility and become overbearing and demanding of people they subconsciously feel real or not are inferior to them and especially so in such a narrow interest group such as lasers for example, And hey i'll be honest I can't stand narcissist people BUT we can still all coexist in this forum and all get what we would like from it and also give back where and when we can, If you 3 can't behave with a reasonable amount humility and minimal amount respect while in my threads then I simply ask you stay out of them entirely OR if you would like you can check out my threads BUT don't comment on move on and I will certainly do the same and in that way we can all avoid stepping on anyone toes or bruising anyone ego ! I think that is a reasonable workaround assuming all 3 of you can be ok with me being here BUT not under any of your thumbs or me taking matching orders from any of you, There are PLENTY of other people here you can run roughshod over so all 3 of you just put me on your respective ignore lists AND leave me there AND forget about me and I will do the same ! Can ya do that ???

That is an awesome sink. Gotta ask, did you make that or buy it someplace ? If you bought it , if you wouldn't mind , where , gotta see if I can grab one . Thanks :)

It's from a CPU cooler I had for my Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Processor QX9770, It was retired after I got a liquid cooling system for it a while back, It had a solid copper core in the middle that I pressed out of it a long time ago and I had the heat sink kicking around in my garage for years, I can't stand to through stuff like that away because you just never know when it could come in handy ! lol

I'm an adult, I don't need a ignore list to avoid your threads and I ask you again please stay out of mine, It's not to try and prevent you from expressing yourself or anything silly like that, It's to prevent any nastiness and bickering and it's the adult thing to do ! Simply avoid each other, Do I really need to explain that !
