Murder fund - WH16NS40 16x - Blu-Ray BDR / BDXL burner

No worries, looked like a neat source for calibration :)

Hey, RHD, have you tried binning any PLTB450B's? They're rated for 450, if 445's frequently do 455, then perhaps the 450's will have a 1:25 chance for 460, and maybe like 4:75 for 463nm.

Goal of this post, want to work out a deal for a 460nm+ diode? PM me if you're itnerested, no more derailing from me :p

On another note, I'm going to hold out on my purchasing of this next 12X to replace my last one. Hopefully these do 1W or 1.2W.

ARG if you haven't pulled the trigger let met know and I'll dig through my junk boxes. I have a 110 mains driver and a low pressure Hg lamp (somewhere) that I can send you for shipping costs. Same spectrum.

Bloom - no I haven't. In fact, I've never used a PLTB450B. I would only caution that 445s were only 445s because the community started calling them that, and it stuck. So I'm not sure if there's logic in thinking that diodes rated at 450 will on average be 5nm higher than what we know as 445s.

That said, I'm not against testing a bunch, if anyone has any creative ideas for making that happen.

I already bid on it, but I'll probably get outbid. If you have something you could send me that would be much appreciated! :)

Np, I'll see if I can find it today or tomorrow then. They're not hard to DIY for under $40 either btw.

+5 to all youse guys!

Can't ever get too much 405nm!

It gets all but drowned out when doing LUMIA with G or Red or 445--

Yeah I love 405! I am glad we were able to get this done and paid for now so we can get to the testing. One of the things I love about this forum is everyone's desire and willingness to venture further than the stuff we already have.

Well Jordan's 16x for ~$70 just did 1.2W+ with a g-2. Let's see if this diode can top it. Every time i go to make my 405 a reality someone has to let me know a better one is around... its like buying solar panels. 12x< Lazeerer 3.8 < DTR's 16x(pioneer)

Just a teaser - I won't be able to test until this weekend. Slight spoiler (and this could either be good or bad) it's clearly not the same diode DTR found.

I'm torn between hoping it's better, and hoping it's not.

I want the most 405nm that I can get, but I already ordered the Pioneer 16X :p

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I see it going either way. 5.6mm diode might mean a more hardy diode, but it could also mean worse diode specs if it has a larger emitter.

Alright, there you have it folks.

While it's hard to scoff at a 405 that breaks the 1W threshold, I don't think this is anything truly new.

So, sorry I don't have better news - but Bloom, I think you made the right choice going with the Pioneer.
