The way I work is I just ask what they want in the laser, discuss pricing, order the parts and build what they asked for. Takes a little longer than buying a prebuilt, but you get exactly what you want, and I can help out with options as well. I don't mind anything really. Doing an RGB pen set, and the combined 405nm unit with MrCrouse. As long as the parts are possible, and the end goal is possible, I'll look into it!
Keeps my hands busy and gives me the chance to build whatever and I get a kick out of building too! Sometimes I just get told to build what I have wanted to (pens and small builds lately). Either way, it's enjoyable.
Isaac, this is an absolutely brilliant idea! Thank you for including me. I would only make one change on my reference in that I build with different higher-end hosts. I don't work exclusively with Sinner's hosts.
You've done a very valuable service for all if us here. Many reps coming whenever it lets me again!
It came to my attention that I forgot to credit Pman with the idea for this thread. I had planned to put that in the OP when I started this thread but apparently I forgot. I do believe in giving credit where credit is due and have added that information in the OP at the top. He brought it up in his Inexpensive Builds thread(which yall should check out by the way!) and I volunteered to put it all together.
I will be adding Nick to the thread and editing some entries with requested info when I get near a computer. Please look past any grammatical errors in this post and the OP edit as I have been typing on my phone. I didnt want to wait to get to a computer to add the above information due to its nature and the fact that it was my error. Many +1's to Pman when system allows!
