They are no longer being made

They were individually turned by hand so each was unique

There were a VERY few made at the time

I *think* that this was the ONLY one made for two 18650's

This should be the entrance exam to the veterans section.

Whether you can name the maker of that host.

Those hosts were NICE. I wonder if a full copper one was ever made.
 
Glad to see he remembered to mention his concern for a handheld device that powerful, and how he mentioned wearing goggles. Even more amazing, the writer remembered to mention the goggles too!
 
Well, it is a most impressive host...certainly a piece for a permanent collection. I would be proud to have one in mine.

EDIT: im still in shock of the hosts they made. pure skill went into these and pure beauty is the end product

I don't know what the story is on why these are no longer made, but I suspect Chip is right, they just took too much time to make to be profitable.

IIRC there was mention of a fully copper host in DTR's build thread.

I also think they are gorgeous. Almost jumped on it when Daguin was selling one not long ago.
 
Yup, having handled a lot of his hosts... the design work is excellent, and with a polish... well you have one ;)

I can't wait to have a 9mm, 3W+ in the MSSSW :eg:
