LASERGLOW GB & Cleaning Sale OPEN Again!

Really??? I'll disagree there. I paid $50 for my Aries. initially it was putting out a badly mode hopping 20mw! After tweaking the ouput coupler for a few hours I succeeded in getting a peaking 200mw green laser!!! There is NO WAY I could have gotten that same laser for $50!!!

I received my Aries earlier this week, no end to the tinkering-fun now ;D . I think I will do a little custom-milling on mine ;)

I am going to need an end-cap for the shell, do you know what the differences between the "old-style" and the new-style" and are they interchangable?

Doesn't Optotronics sell adjustable-power tail-caps for the RPL style-lasers, I wonder if these would work on an Aries? I think the head is smaller on the Aries, but the battery-tube should be about the same, (they both are designed to take either 18650 or C-cells).

Thanks Glenn, I cannot wait for the rest of it :)

I don't think the RPL was designed for a C battery.  I think only the Aries is.  As such, I think that the battery tube is a smaller diameter on the RPL than on the Aries

Mine doesn't have a tailcap but I took the cap from a can of WD-40 and cut a aluminum strip to short from the end of the battery to the side of the barrel. Looks funny but it works.

Great going Kenom! I have been lucky enough to get 2 of 3 of the Aries I worked on from little or no output up to spec and then some, but I didn't get 200 mW out of one yet! I'll have to keep trying. Also all who got no tail battery caps, try Kenom's method, as I hear the tail caps are on back order from CNI, and it c/b a while, It does matter if it's old style (side key) or New style, with the key at the tail end, for the cap to fit. Best Wishes! -Glenn

[quote author=styropyro link=1204138556/240#247 date=1228873606]I got my Lyra-Es yesterday and they weren't CNI like I thought, oh well. The first one I tested shifts into TEM02 after a half second of use. :( Oh well that's why these are discontinued.

Can we have a pic or two to see what looks like discontinued lyra's ? Because the new ones look real sweet...

I'll try to get a pic soon, my camera is messed up right now so I might not be able to get a picture for a while. They don't look anything like the new Lyras though.

On a good note, I found out that one Lyra only mode hops on near dead batteries.

Here's the Lyra-E. Sorry fore the bad pic, my camera is out of focus for some reason.

If anybody wants these make me an offer.

What does the Lyra S200 look like?
Also, there aren't many pen lasers left other than the lyra-e. Will you be adding to the list at any point glenn?

Thanks
Rob

I am waiting for an updated list offered by Justin, and he is also working on getting the few items we didn't receive yet to us.  Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to All!  -Glenn

UPDATE! The lasers are all in now, but the battery caps are still on the wait list.

WowZA!!!!

I just made a 18650 adapter for my Aries today out of a 1" wooden dowel.  The 18650 fits right directly in the center of the dowell.  Needless to say, I've powered this baby up and I'm getting

236mw PEAK!!!

Now this thing cost $50 and when I got it was putting out 15mw!!!

What's the deal with these nowadays? Still taking orders and waiting until you have enough to order?

Depends what you are looking to buy... If you want something(new) from LG, it operates like a normal GB... If you're looking for something in the scratch and dent section, it's more of a "for sale"...

Hey everyone, I am still waiting for the battery caps, but it is tempting to get the very low output Aries lasers from the GB, several were very fixable for those with the ability to do it.  I really scored on the Vega, no output?  it's beam on a foggy night right in between An Aries @ 130 mW Green and a red MaxMass Igor Mini-Dorcy red that's at 295 mW!   :o :o :o

With the way my budget has been these days, I would never have gotten the yellow at regular prices!!!
