Kryton Grooves coming back!

I see someone didn't bother to read ANY of this extensive thread or even manage to watch the associated video....classy.

In addition to this host, you need a laser diode, a lens, a driver, and the required batteries.

The head is machined to accept a diode, no module is needed.

Mine should be here tomorrow! I've got a lot of work ahead of me! Think I might be picking up a bench top buffer to do all my stuff from now on. I'm also getting my power supply as well as most of the other parts I've ordered this week! I don't know how I'm going to explain this to my girlfriend! Good thing I'm starting a new job in a week working for DTE. :)

While we are all anticipating our Krytons, there are several of us (me) who have never built with one.

Is there a good build tutorial thread out there to help us noobs out? I mean, I get how to press a diode. I'm just wondering if there are any surprises I'm not aware of...like with other customs hosts.

I've gotten most out as of this morning. I just have 5 or 6 left to do. I've just been going up the list and packaging orders in the order they were received.

Thanks Matt...If I remember right, I am either next to the last or not far from it.

Just got home and found that they arrived! Thanks to Mohrenberg, and anyone else who helped to make this available to us.

Glad they are starting to arrive. I expect photos and reviews and beamshots and ect...

I should have everything finished by tonight, and the GB will be all shipped out by morning.

Umm... sorry I don't know but on which side of the switch does the nylon spacer go?
From the video it looks like it goes on the spring side of the switch, is that correct?
Sorry for the silly questions.

The spacer goes on the button side of the switch
silicone clicky cap -> spacer -> switch -> retaining clip -> battery tube (threaded end)

Even with the spacer in there, you sometimes have to trim off a very small bit of the "nub" in the silicone cap

@ Moh -- Are these stock "DX" switches?

Peace,
dave
