It's that time again! Perseid meteor shower !!!

I love meteor showers and one of the best is the Perseid. It should be at it's peak on August 12th just after midnight. Too bad the moon will be so bright this year, but that won't stop me from being up on my roof watching the skies.
 





kinda off topic but..
tomorrow the rings around Saturn are supposed to "disappear".

Horizon to horizon cloud expected here with a possible gap on thursday so second year running not much of a chance....but I will be looking.

I can't say I saw many last night, but then I did stop watching at around 1AM BST. I did see some nice bright ones mind :)
 
I didn't see any showers, only a few here and there... didn't stay out for very long either though. I did dust off the NVG's and put them to use. It's amazing how many more stars can be seen with them.
 
It really is too bad that most of us had a sky full of clouds last night. Up here we had a brief break in the clouds around 11:30. I was able to see 6 or so meteors before the clouds closed back in. A couple of them even had persistent tails.
