^ I´m going to order one and send it to Jordan. I´m interested what we can get out of these.

They are on the common market since a few months, but the O-Like price is the best I saw so far.

I thought that the 500mW diodes weren't available due to some QC issues? That's why RayFoss took them off their site and the Ebay auctions.

Might be the case :)

The past weeks/months I wasn´t only very often, but I know that there were available a few months ago.

I´m gonna talk directly to Mitsubishi..
 
WoW $199 for the 500mW is too much. They where $128 on RayFoss. Just wait alittle until RayFoss gets them back in.

Exactly what I was thinking. I mean if it doesn't come down in price, $200 is still not too much for a diode that can probably do 1W... but I'm going to hold off.
 
Screw that. 200$ for that diode. I was Able to get this Diode for Close to that price Months ago.

O-Like is Crazy. I hope RayFoss does not Pull something like that.

I think O -Like Jacked the price up because no one has them up for sale now so they are trying to pull a fast one.:tsk:

I wont fall for it. Ill wait till RayFoss gets them Back.:)

Thats Almost triple the price of the 300mW one.

That is Not a Fair Price as of today.

If this was Months ago it would be a Great Price but not now since we know what they really go for.

I expected Better From O-Like....

IMO this isn't a bad price either... not up on rayfoss either.

i received my diodes from rayfoss today. this diode is the biggest piece of shit i can legally own. fak fak fak needs correction optics immediately, although I cant fit anything in the SAIK host :(
we need manufacturers to produce diodes with single mode emitters to serve our laser pointing needs :D

What did you expect these are constantly being described as worst divergence ever and making 445nm look like single mode.
 
I did some testing with TEC-cooling tonight. I had previously build a quick and dirty TEC mount from projector parts for playing with 445s. Decided to hit the TEC mount up with 12V and 4.5A of current, and ran it to freezing. Added a 635, and observed the result.

It's quite amazing how noticeably brighter these get when cooled substantially. In the photo, there is absolutely nothing added to the air (no glycerin, nothing), it's fairly bright in the room, and the camera is quite a bit off-axiz. Still, what a bright beam when cooled to this extent!
