It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

^^^ I dont have the parts to do something like this.

I have a dead 473nm lab that i was going to take apart and give a try with that but that wont be until my other diode comes in.

Or simply just get Dr. Lava's correction optics set. Seems pretty easy to set up.

the prism pair wont be enough to correct the beam alone with an emitter that large.
you need to find a way to make the emitter smaller. there are only 2 ways to do that.
way one, pin hole loses tone of power.
way two, cut and rejoin the beams over each other.
But the issue is you go from this [------] to [---].
and it would work the same for the 445nm diodes.

I see. Well I dont have anything else available to me now so iam going to have to look into it furtherer.

Do you have a Link to the PBS cube and wave plate you are speaking of in Post #209 ?

Or you can use both. First go from this [------] to [---] using your method, then use the prism pair. OR you can use two prism pairs.

You may want to look into Roithner Laser products or asking andy-con, who is very experienced in laser optics.

there are red coated cubes for sale on PL from a member for 22$ each the only thing you need that would be hard to find is a wave plate coated for 640nm.
in optics you will spend a good 75$
edmunds have them but it would be a bit costly.
your looking for a 1/2 wave plate they had a gb for them and they were 45 a peice
But with the 500mw version having almost the same emitter size as the 300mw version and the 300mw version is giving out 400 you could say the 500mw version could give out 650mw then optics take away 150mw
in the end you get 500mw of decent 640nm red.
and yes it would also use the prism pair to correct even further.
But the qestion is will it be enough.
They may be just to big of emitters to get decent deams for anything but a flashlight.

OK.:) Ill give him a ring..

I see. Thats something to look into. You made it sound Cheap to do.:p

Like JohnyZ Recommand to try you think that Dr. Lava Correction Optics might work in this Case. I have read that you have to use a G1 with them which is not a Problem but want to know some Opinions on this.

I would rather buy that and Give them a Go first. Only if you think its worth it.

wont combining them in just a pbs give you a big this " + " can you use a prism pair after each lens and then run them into a pbs?

michael.

if you do it they way i described the wave plate means you dont get that + as you dont have to rotate the beam. thats why they make wave plates.

that plate will work it should but it says its uncoated.
So it may have some higher losses.
but still 28$ for the plate 22$ for the cube.
I will send you the FS if you need them. i got lots from the projectors.
so your looking at 70$ for the optics and 130$ for the 500mw version plus the prism pair and g1 lens so about 300$
for a 500mw 640 laser with a great beam.
the resale value of a 640nm laser at 500mw is huge over 800$.
I know it sounds a bit scary but there has to be a member who may have these optics laying around and just need the diode to test them with.

im on thee trying to find out the only thing i have found the one person who was testing these signed an NDA and does not want to speak any further.
So far no one has contributed the results of this setup.
I think the ones who knew are going to tell, for whatever reason.
But i think if it was crap they would say. but if its good or decent they may not want to say due to they were paid to design this system, and they want it theirs.

Its was at 475mA.:D Thats where i have it set to now.

I just set one up in my Stainless Steel 10440 build with a copper press fit heatsink...

SS10440%2020.jpg

Your diode is much more efficient compared to mine though... :thinking:

I have mine set at 450mA's, and here are the power readings with different lenses compared:

* 650-G-1 - 315mW's
* AR coated acrylic - 232mW's
* AixiZ glass (red) - 200mW's

It's a wide line, but it's a cool color! :cool: (orange like)

^^^What No Beam Shots.:p

Maybe i did get a efficient diode. I dont Know. It sure seems that way. I will find out with the Second One iam getting that should be here very soon.:D

PS Ive got one going in a 10440 build too Jay.;)

Yes It is Orange Like. More then any of my other 635nm laser.

Outside though you cant tell much unless your looking at the "dot" Line.<<<:crackup:

I get about 232mw with a random glass lens at 475ma. I cannot wait for the ar lens to come in the mail. Same with my host.
