Hey everyone,

Some of you might remember me, most of you probably don't. I used to post here frequently up until about a year ago, then I up and vanished. The short story is that I was feeling the heat from school and didn't have much time or money for lasers (gasp!). The good news is all that hard work payed off. I landed a job at Laserglow Technologies last month. My job basically comes down to quality control and assisting with new product development. Of course, I don't expect you to take my word for it, so if a moderator wants to PM me their e-mail address, I can e-mail them from my company e-mail tomorrow morning for verification.

That said, I just thought some people might be interested to know that Justin isn't the only Laserglow contact you have anymore (I'm probably going to be more active than him anyways). I'm not about to divulge company secrets or anything that could be considered sensitive information, but I'd be happy to field any questions about my experiences finding a career in lasers or anything similar.

Good to see you all again,

Event Horizon

Good for you, congratulations!! there is nothing better than working in the field you completely enjoy!!! ( I assume you do).

So what was your major?

You work for LG and im your new best friend! :D

Welcome back to LPF

LOL I attempted the Photonics Engineering Technology program at Algonquin College and failed miserably. It was way above my head, I only made it through the first semester. :(

Holy crap! That's awesome! I do rememer you. lol

Have you had your hands on any of the 589nm lasers yet? If so, I'm gonna have to shoot you a PM....

I walked away from the program with an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Photonics Engineering.

I have indeed tried out our 589nm lasers, which it seems are being advertised here. They are very cool. Just what you'd expect. Brighter per mW than 594, and more of a golden yellow color.

A little off topic, but I love lasers and I hope to make my career out of them just as you have.

Anyway, welcome back to the forum!

Congrats on the LG job, and welcome back to LPF! Sounds like a fun job, and LG definitely made a great decision hiring you.
