How bad is DealExtreme?

I was browsing the laser section of the site, many lasers look very identical to rayfoss and o-like and such but literaly half price.
how bad and not up to spec are they?
maybe its better to buy a 200mw from dx in a price of a 100mw from other sites?

As usual, "you get what you pay for" meaning a 200mw green for 30$ isn't
gonna be more than 50-100 mw.
When you buy from o-like and rayfoss, you can expect the output to be
more or less accurate with their ads.
That being said, there are great deals to be found on dealextreme, focalprice
and the like, especially for units <50mw.
But price isn't everything, fast shipping and attention to customers is another
aspect of doing business.

Can we get rid of Dinas?

I've have placed nearly 15 orders with dx and I've been happy with them. I have never ordered a high powered laser from them since they don't ship to the usa. But I've ordered pointers, batteries, lights, ods and ends ect from them and I have been pleased with the products. Just the only complaint is shipping time. Sometimes it takes a while

I've placed dozens of orders with them over the years and they've always done me right.

Although I have no experience with their lasers because they won't ship to the us.

I have placed 6 orders, for several hosts in each order, from DealExtreme this past year. While the shipping may take up to a month to arrive, each of the orders I placed did arrive, each order with the proper items ordered. My only complaint is the extremely slow shipping. (although, their shipping is at light speed compared to Wicked Lasers)

To echo the rest, I've placed dozens of orders with DX over the past 2 or 3 years. They have always been rock solid.

To be clear, you WILL wait a long time for orders to arrive. Over a month is common, and over two is occasionally possible.

As far as I'm concerned, they're the good guys, and they seem to value their company's reputation. When products fail, they stand behind them way more than I would expect a merchant to, given the type and price of their merchandise.

Basically, once you accept that what you're ordering won't arrive for a while, I don't think there is any other inexpensive Chinese gadget store that runs as good and reliable of an operation as DX.

Good prices, surprisingly good customer service, nice reviews, good selection... horribly long time to source the products for shipping. I've also been trying Lightake to see how fast their shipping is.

I think DX is a good choice for you to get cheap lasers. And I appreciate DX's service, though we are competitors

Most of the low cost Chinese web stores follow a similar template. I see nothing wrong with that, although PA could make itself a standout by changing templates. My biggest beefs with the websites are that when your sort by price low to high it still shows products out of order, and some sites limiting you to only a few products per page.

dx takes a long period to deliver. my goods were shipped on 29/nov/10. got few mail to charge me for keep waiting, instead of goods, till date.what's the great price or customer support if u don't receive the material. goods don't arrive, what would i need their goodwill for ???

It will arrive, eventually. I've placed tons of orders from them, and the materials always eventually reach you. It's been a month for you so far. That sucks, but that's not unusual for DX.

I placed an order around Oct 15 that arrived around Dec 15 - that's just how it goes with DX. They'll work with you to resolve problems, and if your purchase really doesn't show up, I bet they'll resolve the issue with you favorably.

but isn't the period annoying ?? today i don't even have a single aixiz in hand, and waiting for > 1 month, drives me crazy. and i m sure, that the date they quote as shipped is fake. which ancient animal they put the parcel on that takes over a month + to reach to India from HK ? I'm sure they didn't ship on the date they are telling. Liars.

I take a different perspective -

Unless this is your first time ordering from DX, you know to expect a long shipping wait. DX products are dirt cheap. If you need something faster, you can get it faster, by either paying for upgraded DX shipping, or buying from a retailer located in your own country. But we can't have the best of all worlds - IE, cheap Chinese gadgets, with faster shipping, and prompt customer service.

It would be easy enough to figure out if they're lying - check the post mark date when it arrives.
