If you're lucky, it's possible to come across some 3.7v 14250s (1/2 AA) on eBay. While a bit pricey, they're the perfect battery profile for pens if you can't find yourself a boost driver. Not sure how much of a beating they can take though, probably under ~3W if I were to guess.

These guys sell Saft 14250s at very good prices $3.79 per. Everyone else wants 2X to 4X that price it seems.

Those are primary cells. They are not rechargeable, that is why they are cheaper.

Sta's right, and I found it out the hard way after finding a couple at my local electronics store. Went home and read the label on the battery, "Do not recharge." You need to be careful of that "3.6v" mark; it got me as well but that's actually non-rechargeable lithium. Rechargeable 3.7v lipo 14250s are pretty expensive for what you get, and that's if you're able to catch a pair on eBay or some Chinese site

Yes, something in that size being better than nothing.

Lighthound used to sell AW 14250 but have been out of business for 2 years or so.

Looks like 10 pieces of rechargable 14250 from Aliexpress for $20 is a way to go---nobody in USA offers them any more -- at least not that I can find.

Hey, wavelengths is my drug. I still run through and test all my lasers every few months - never lost interest, just been busy.. Really wouldn't mind being around more.

The 480-500nm range has always been my sweet spot for beauty. I hope hope hope these pan out so that I can build something and experience it in person. How many are you ordering, DTR? Is it going to be something that a general person such as myself could obtain one?
