You post the picture here.  

Members like Jake, et al send them to their suppliers asking if the supplier has them.  

The supplier send the picture around to his distributors and jobbers to look for them.  

Some jobber says "I have this sled" and sends the picture around to his resellers and distributors.

The reseller sends the picture to AMK, et al and AMK posts it here.

We can only hope that the jobber is actually seeing what is in the picture.  The "4X" sled looks an awfully lot like the "6X" sled to someone with a supply on hand to sell. (especially when looking all the way from China)

They read these forums, trying to find out what we want and then they contact people from here offering them sleds.
I've been contacted by three so far!

But using a picture from this thread to offer sleds to the thread starter... :o



See, Amk, this is why i keep asking you what they said specifically, how they said it, who said it first, etc, etc.. If you're too enthusiastic and ask them "is it what i want", it's very easy for them to say "yes". You have to be careful not to feed them the answers you want to hear.

Heh, after TheMonk said it was your finger i looked a little closer and saw that the floating focusing assy is missing.. ;D

But before that i was only looking for the fins. It's so easy to see what you want to see.

Wizards first rule: People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true.

I truly think this is what all chinese retailers think of us americans

I did not show them a picture and ask for the sled, I found a random company, (that had some great testimonials....) and I e-mailed them asking for "GGW-H20L". They responded saying they have them.

I demanded pictures, and they sent me a few from this forum.... Then they sent me goey's.

I asked for an ACTUAL picture taken by THEM, and they admitted that they had ordered 2000 units from a supplier around November 1st, and they will arrive at their warehouse by the end of this month. They will then take a picture, and next to it on a piece of paper handwritten the name of the company.

They then will take detailed pictures of the front and back, and we will be sure. They promised that they are 10000% sure these are GGW-H20L, and they said they [highlight]know they are not GBW-H10N's (4x) because they have those in stock already ready to ship. [/highlight]

Hey AMK, I (we) are not doubting you, so please don't take it personally. We just don't want (ourselves or you) to get burned by a company who is lying or just doesn't know what they're selling. So, if they can give us a pic so that we ourselves can verify (or do our best to do so, anyway), then we'll feel better about buying them.

So, thank you very much for your effort that has gone into finding and buying these! Now we just need to get some actual proof from the supplier about their claim since we can't exactly return these if they turn out not to be what we want.

EDIT: Also, just a thought, but I don't see why these companies won't just send a sample sled for FREE, considering how much we plan to buy if what they're saying is true.

Bah. Free means having to let go of product that they would have to take from their inventory. Potential loss of sales even with the advantage of a potential sale from said sample. No matter how much they make, they lose the sale of that one. We all need to understand exactly how aggressive the chinese are in suceeding and being better than everyone else.

It is quite evident that the sellers/dealers from China frequent these forums.  Discussing how to deal with them here might not be the best idea...

The first car I bought was a honda hatchback (used).  It was listed at $1k, and I offered $500 over the phone after a test drive/etc.  The man asked his wife if she would accept $500.  She said, "Ask for $700, but if he doesn't budge, $500 is OK".  He evidently didn't think I could hear her over the phone.  But, after hearing that, guess how much I got the car for?

Same deal here.

Money sent for 1. I put the GB as "..." so throw me wherever. Do these sleds come with an open can red too? I forget...

Nope, they come with a long can red. A very unusual looking, but powerful diode.

It's the same diode as in the Dilda lazor. But properly driven it is very good. Some people suggested it could be the same die as in some open cans, but in a can. That would be an explanation for the can being so long.
