GB: 1W 520nm diode information/giveaway

One of those times where money is the issue... as with the rest of this hobby.

I still need to fund my secret project, get a new 405, get a SM 450, a 1W 635, and now one of these monsters... At least Ill be in the hobby for a long while :p

3W? Damn, hope that's true! I'm a happy camper if it's stable at 2W. Might even use a 3 elements lens to have a better beam.

Thanks for finding a new seller, ARG :)

@Shakenawake: sorry for your dominator.. maybe I should stop pushing mine, I do the 5min cycle every now and then. But then again that's the point of having a huge host XD

I don't even know what I'd do with 3W of anything....

@ZRaffle, do you know if any DPSS processes utilizing 520nm as the pump source?

Oh...OH....oooooh....

This isn't too far from the Ar 514.5 line. I'm 99.9% certain that you could use this to circumvent the need to use a 1W+ ion. Imagine a labby the size of a milk carton pumping a Ti:Sapph ring cavity no bigger than a shoebox. *drool*

Yup, I'll be getting one of these ASAP once they come down. I NEED to experiment with one of these as a pump source.

Only green pumped systems I know of are Ti:sapp and dye lasers. I'm sure there are others, but you'll be running into a money issue getting them.

Edit: You should be able to circumvent the argon use. If you do it right ;)

It'll accept 520nm as a pump wavelength... but you face the problem that is alignment

Well, alignment will always be a challenge.

When the N1chia 445 diodes FIRST hit the market....they were $3000.00
....EACH !!!! HAHAHAHAHA E A C H !! SO...think of it !!!! These were the initial 445nm A140 LD's...NOW obsolete !!!.....IIRC with a max of 1 to 1.2 W..OOOooo....and for 3K a pop.....

$ 3000.00 down to....say $ 30....that is TWO orders of magnitude !!!

I hope history repeats itself....at least to some degree !!!! We shall see !!!

CDBEAM=======>:thinking:

Yup, I suppose it's safe to say now that he's got the coming soon sign on his site :p
