Performed a temp. rise test this morning on the Ophir head using 3 Fluke 52 units reading within .2F of each other.
Test was done with a >2W unit for 2 minutes reading both sides and top at same position in depth and centered.
All 3 readings rose together to +4F in that time so however it is heat sinked, it looks even across top and sides.
For full disclosures sake, I pulled a completely boneheaded move that I swore I would never let happen. Originally popped in the 18650 into the Blord Odessa, switched it on and ............ nothing. Put battery in backwards. Now have a beautiful 2mw 445nm to smack upside my head all in the name of science At least I continued with the test....
Blord said the boost driver has reverse protection and he can fix it. Seems like I should have to do it since it was my fault.
I'm with you guys on this and suspect many others will be jumping in. Would like to see a heatsink across the top. Would likely have to attach it with screws from the top piece down into the side pieces.
Does anyone have any pics of a heatsink in use anywhere from any source?
Awaiting pics
