FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Just ordered a 444mA Please double or even tripple check that its a 444mA because my DMM is still fried so I cant test it with a test load first...

Thanks again

444mA Driver it's ok for LPC-815?

Can you test the 1.3A DRIVER at 4.2V for red?
Which one Gives >400mA at 4.2V for red?

These are linear drivers. They are not meant to be used with a 4.2V source so why even ask. If you want to use 4.2V then you need a boost driver like the microboost or microflex. Even if it did work its basically just a direct drive in such a configuration. It will not be regulating the current until it reaches 1300mA which it wont because of the low input voltage.

What Helios said is correct, you dont want the 1.3A version for getting 444mA. If you want a single cell solution get the 379mA, that way you do get regulation for most of the cell's cycle and its a "safer" current.

Helios, no problem Ill test it for you. Im in the middle of testing 9 boost drivers :)

I cannot wait. If these boost drivers can pull off 1.8A from a low voltage input I think they will have a huge impact on this hobby.

I'm hooked on jibs drivers, I'm having trouble finding hosts to keep putting them in :)

He Is looking for a ~540mA driver in a host that can takes a 18650 or 2x 16340. But i think he preferred a single cell.

I sent him over to you.

Send him a PM and he will tell you exactly what he needs.;)

>>>>GO HERE TO ORDER>>>>> [Jib's Driver Order Page]

*** I am no longer making maxed out drivers(1.3-1.6A), it creates too much confusion. If you want yours maxed out, buy a 1.25A driver and write in the comments "MAXED".***

Good heatsinking recommended.

If you wish to mod your driver use 2512 sized SMD resistors of the proper power rating.

Specs:
Size: 10mm x 14mm
Max Current: 1.3A +/- part tolerances (tested w/ 4V dummy load)
Min Vin: 6V (4V load)
Max Vin: 9V (limited by input cap rating)
Continuous Ground

Heatsink example:

Inside Aixiz Module, tight but it fits:

what did you put on top to heatsink it?

Ok guys I have some tests results of my of JibBoost ... the IC I used is not capable of boosting as much as claimed by the manufacturer. Set for 1.8A it fails to deliver more than 1A at 3V and only 1.7A at 4.2V ... with a 4V load. It behaves much like the NJG as such I will not be perusing this design any further. Furthermore I will be taking a break from LPF and driver making/R&D as I have to prepare for the possibility I might not have employment by the end of the month. I will continue to sell what I have in stock but until things settle down I will not be building anymore.

I have 8 JibBoosts available for $15 if you don't mind the above described behavior ... PM me if you are interested. Its also useful for LED builds like XML since the PCB is 17mm round.

@Visner420 ... the orange things are broken fingers from an old motherboard CPU glued on with Arctic Alumina epoxy.

***EDIT: only 2 JibBoosts left.***

:( it's sad to see you leave bro :(

You've been a great asset to the forum...

But, I guess you dont really have a choice... Goodluck in life :)

NO! We cant lose our most reliable driver source! Sad day on LPF :cryyy:

I hope everything works out and we see you back here soon. It is more than understandable that you let the hobby go while you figure out your employment. Good luck man.

Ouch, terribly sorry to hear that! Try Fargo ND!!! Farming is a very safe longterm jobmarket.

Aw man sorry to hear about the job situation. :(

I was going to hold off on getting one of your 1.8A drivers for awhile but if you have any left on Friday I'll pick up at least one.

1.8s are out. I had them in my cart last night and they were in stock, then went to pay and they were out. :(
