FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Hey jib, one question, what is the output forward of the 1.8A driver?

Im guessing that you mean forward voltage? Thats dependant on the diode. If you mean the dropout voltage, that should still be 1.5V or so.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Ooops. Yes I did mean forward voltage. Thanks for the correction. My mind was in two different places.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Theoretically, it can supply ~6V w/ 2 fully charged li-ions. I suspect you need at least 18650s to provide enough current to make 1.8A.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Ill make a few 502mA ones and see how it goes.

@xivlia ... Each manufacturer and package has its own max. I found one that has a nominal max of 1A and absolute max of 1.5A. The 800mA one is probably a SOT package which can not dissipate a lot of heat.

do you think the voltage to the diode would be good? i assume that it has to be lower then the voltage for 1w 445nm.

but like i said, iknow almost nothing about making drivers :p

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Actually BR has a higher Vfw than 445 (6V vs 4.7V IIRC), but since the LM1117 has such low overhead it may still have plenty of voltage to give with just two cells.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

I'd buy one when you get them in stock let me know please

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

will let us know wen there done?

thanx

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Hello jib77. I am looking for some fixed linear drivers to power some 445nm modules I purchased. I was told you are the person to talk to. Can you help?

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Yup. I have parts, I have PCBs all I got to do is finish putting them together. As soon as they are done Ill post on here and be ready to start taking orders. I am about halfway done in the assembly process.

I will be looking to purchase 5 drivers set for 1.3A and 5 drivers set for 1.8A. Will these quantities be acheivable?

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Yeah, I am going to be looking for one driver at 1.3A and one at 1.5A.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

These are set to the max the IC can do, in my test this is 1.3A without heatsinking and 1.5-1.6 with GOOD heatsinking. I do not have resistors to set them to anything else. Its like Southwest Airlines, its cheap because I use 1 set of parts for all of them (allows for volume discounts for the parts). I do have a 1.8A driver in the pipeline though, Im hoping to have those available sometime next week.

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Well then I will need two 1.3As =p

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Ok ... thanks for being patient everybody, the 1.3A drivers are in stock. Im setting the limit to 4 drivers per person for this batch. I hope to lift this in future batches as I get more efficient at producing these.

$9 each in US, $10 international ... Shipping included. Please PM me with your order.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

:O i sent pm ages ago, im taking one !!! :P
