I'm looking to build a couple of lasers and have a few questions about these hosts. I used to be pretty active on this forum about 4 or 5 years ago and understood everything that went into putting something like this together.

With some of these hosts, you mention they are pre-wired. What exactly does that mean? Does that mean their push buttons are wired to the safety switch on the end cap (if it has one), the momentary push buttons are wired up and the 18650 battery contacts are also wired up?

Sorry for all of the questions, I just want to make sure I'm on the same page before I say I want all 3.

Short answer to all is yes.

Yes, basically there's nothing else to do to the host itself, so if you have a ready built module all you will need to do is hook two wires together positive and negative and slide it into the host .

Just wondering, in the hosts that have both switches, what connects to the positive on the driver? It appears the red wire is connected to the + battery and goes to the momentary switch.

Maybe Ehgemus will answer, but all of the hosts I've purchased from him have the red wire go to + battery. I always thought the plus red wire was switched for the one on the body, if a tail cap switch, then the minus or negative, of course.

Can you post a pic of the section that holds the driver with a heatsink on the secomd host? I need something for a driver at 2.4A it's going to create a lot of heat.

You mentioned you have heat sinks for drivers, did you make them? If so I'd like to see a pic of those as well?

I sent you a PM some time ago about getting a custom host. Basically I need one like the one you have pictured using 2x26650 batteries, but with a little modification so I can use my beam expander with it and not have to hold it to be in focus.
I have one of your hosts now that uses 2x26500 batteries, I just have to hold it in position so the expander is lined up properly. Is a pain, plus I would like to use the newer higher output diodes and need a host with a little more heatsink than this one has.

This host holds 2 18650 batteries and a 12x30 mm module, or DTR module. This host has a focus ring. This host has a pretty good size heatsink, 1-5/8" Dia. The host is 10.25" long. Side momentary switch and a tail switch for added safety. This host does not have a place to heatsink the driver so the driver will need to be mounted behind the diode.
