Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Ok, i am going to Ljubljana over the weekend, for an important business meeting. I might not be available to answer emails in a split second. Please nobody get paranoid!

I will also pay a visit to the customs office (they are in Ljubljana), if they don't deliver tomorrow morning, before i leave.

I'll pry those batteries out of their greedy fingers, if i have to.

read: visiting "old flame" and/or online-arranged blind date...  :D

Just "yanking your chain", Igor  ;)

All the best in Leeu-blee-ahna  8-)

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Remember the important customer that called me, while i was making lasers, and i told them to get in line?

They have a new project for me, and want to discuss it in person. That's why i'm going there. And while i'm there, i might just pay our customs a little visit...

I don't want anyone to loose their mind over having a laser but no batteries..  ::)

How long do your packages usually take to arrive in the US?
Note that he's sending to Glenn in CA, then Glenn is shipping to us individually.
Did not realize that - is there a customs reason for that? Or just a "this-is-easier-this-way" reason?  Either way - no need to hold my laser, DX shipped and all is right with the world.  Except the Great Depression #2.  And my stomach hurts.  That is all!
It is to make it faster. The idea is to ship an express "multipack", and have it dispatched from within the US with Priority, to avoid a certain different understanding of the concept of "Registered" mail between my country and US (here it's the only way to get tracking, there it makes packages slower, while US has many other tracking options without using registered mail)..

Altho last time it backfired - the delay was increased instead of reduced... I demanded a refund, but they offered me credit. I said what good is credit if they screw up so badly (they forgot my express packages in Slovenia for over a week, and only realized it in LA, when the list didn't match the contents!), but they promissed it would not happen again, that that was an accident.  >:(

So now that batch #2 is delayed due to batteries, i would like to fix this with yet another "multipack". I will PayPal Glenn the money for re-shipping with Priority from within the US, and you should hopefully get your packages faster even if you need to wait for bateries. (Glenn is being rewarded for his help with this)..

At least that's the idea. I really hope they don't screw up twice in a row..

So now i have batch #1 multipack, should be in CA in a couple of days, and preparing batch #2 multipack... If the second "multipack" works well, then the battery delay will be nullified for US orders at least...

If there is enough orders at once, the express cost spreads out, and it's not too bad. But i will look into finding other courrier services, after i spend the credit i was given.

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Ok, looks like there are only two more spots in batch #3 left.

Or three, if i count the CR123 Sidebutton host option.. The two spots left are main model..

If someone was discussing an order with me, and would like to place it, but did not get an "Order Summary Request" yet, please remind me ASAP, so i reserve you a spot! I don't want to make a mistake and say there are spots left if there are not..

Well, not all of Batch #2 has been delayed, correct? Those of us who did not wait for a battery have had our lasers shipped, correct? In this case, are they still shipped to Glenn in CA or directly to us individually?

Also wondering the same thing. I just didn't have the balls to bother him ;).

The worst thing that could possibly happen to someone, is to get the laser but not have the batteries. It would drive you mad.  ;D

No. That would only come close; to really go mad, you need:

  • DX Dilda, but no CR2 batteries...
  • A pair of Trustfire protected 14500s and Ultrafire charger, but no IgorT Classic Romisen 170mW 6x BR...
  • Avid member of the ah, eight-month long Feeler thread for broadband AR coated glass AixiZ Lenses...
  • A father who has a fully-equipped Laser lab - can you say, Laser-beam-profiler? -
but thinks you shouldn't own a laser unless you have a (/are working on your) Ph.D. in Physics...
Now that's how it's done right  8-)

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

If Igor says they're shipped, they're shipped. They aren't sat next to the front door or in the car, they've been handed over the counter at a post-office. It's entirely down to the postal services of our countries now. :-?

It's not that I'm any less eager than you guys to have my lasers in my hands.
As a returning customer, I can categorically state that Igor T's words can safely be accepted as being somewhere between factual and modestly understated.

I empathise entirely with you as far as , since the very second you paid your money over, every single day brings hope that delivery is imminent [or happened whilst out working.]

Money isn't his driving force in life like knowledge undoubtedly is. It's probably more of a necessary formality in the process and helps with knowing which confirmed orders may be taken as factual and thereby to be built forthwith.

Hope this maybe helps to put your [and anyone else's] minds at ease. ;)

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Jriga:

Sorry for the confusion. It comes from the fact, that the number of orders i got in one month after getting real 6x diodes is actually over one third of all orders i had before that!

There are so many of you waiting on a package, that i am getting confused myself.....

In trying to get the money for the lens GB together faster, i accepted all orders, and i overestimated my abilities - how fast i can do it all. These are not just quickly thrown together ready made parts, there is a lot of work in each and every one of them. There is a certain limit to how fast i can do it all without reducing the quality of my work.

On top of that, i tried to maintain the usual level of communication with everyone, which made it all even worse, since there is five times the usual "everyone" right now.. Don't get me wrong, i like talking to you all, and you all know the length of the emails i usually write, but just that took a lot of time off my hands. Time, which i should have spent building lasers...

The number of builds and the number of emails completelly overwhelmed me.. In the end i had no choice, but to dig into the work and the shipping, and reduce the email time.....

It's like this.... Some people from batch #2 said "I don't need batteries" before my computer suffered a nervous breakdown.... Those are the ones that were shipped last week. Those buyers have received a confirmation from me (unless i forgot someone, due to the confusion of emails that piled up during a week of my absence).

Some of you canceled the battery request a day or two ago. Some of these went to countries other than US, those were mostly shipped.

But with US orders, the multipack method should still bring your package to you faster than direct Registered Priority shipping, even if i ship them all at once on Monday... So i'm thinking that would be the best way to go.

If you want me to ship directly today instead, let me know, but the other method will most likelly get your package to you faster. (i can use the credit from the previous screwup for one superfast shipping option, or two regular express shipments)..

At this moment, i am trying to sort through the complications of making AND keeping some >30 people happy. I am trying to find the best solution for each order individually. All i've been doing this week was recording graphs, preparing packages, triple checking the contents, and figuring out the best fast way to sort it all out.

I still have a lot of stuff to sort through, a lot of packages to prepare and ship (which reminds me, i will stop offering individual Power vs. Time graphs cos they delay everything - one graph per model should suffice from now on).

I will be away one day (tomorrow), on Sunday i will prepare the last of the packages, and on Monday i will ship the last of them (Multipack #2). Some individual packages go out today, some went out yesterday. The packaging and shipping alone takes A LOT of time!

It's all a big confusion right now, so please allow me to finish shipping the last of it, then i will attend to everyone individually via email, and then we can talk like before again.... ;)

I understand it's hard for you to wait. Time passes differently for you than for me. For me a month can just fly by with all the work, while for you, each day can be an agony of waiting.... But everything is being taken care of to the best of my abilities, and it will all be over soon.

At least for you. For me, that's when batch #3 has to be sorted out...  :o

So now that I'm feeling bad for you (but not for DX, nor my father, for that matter :P), you are welcome to disregard my request for the Power vs. Time graph. I don't think that I can get out of it as much as you have to put into it so spare yourself the effort (on my graph).

I suggest you take the day off tomorrow and don't even bother to "visit" LPF or your Gmail account - doctor's* orders!

(*I'm not a Dr. - but I play one on TV...   :P :D  ;D)

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

You don't have to feel bad for me, all i'm asking for is some understanding until i sort it all out. From Monday on, it will be smooth sailing again, that's when my workload will just be normal (only a normal batch to make and ship).

Unless that big customer i am meeting tomorrow has a complicated project for me..
He said he had "certain wishes", an "idea"... That often means developement and manufacture of a device from scratch!  :-/
Last year, the very first batch ever was waiting for a project for this customer to be finished. This year, it's gonna be the other way around.. ::)

Maybe i should clone myself!

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

my first laser is an x125 from nova and it was a great laser when new.
i told my co-worker friend about Igor's lasers and he ordered one and i just put my order in also...
i am excited to get a blu-ray

has anyone with their 6x blu do any testing on burning distances...how far can you pop a ballon and light a match, etc?

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

My 113 mW IgorT blu-ray would light a black head match from 6 1/2 feet! I don't pop balloons much, but if done just right they can be popped from 3 or so feet further, I think. :o

That was actually the point of confusion for a few of us - there were several parts to Batch #2.  From what I can tell, there was Batch #2 A, Batch #2 B, and Batch #2C.

Batch #2A is shipped.
Batch #2B is NOT shipped, but is 100% completed, just waiting on emergency battery packs.  Also, anyone in Batch #2B that does not need a battery pack is still waiting to ship with those that do need a battery (as far as I can tell from this thread).
Batch #2C is NOT shipped, either.

This is why we were  :-? :-? :-? :-? ... A few posts back the update was 'everything is 100% done and shipped' and a few days later the next update was 'not shipped, waiting on batts'.  So a few of us emailed IgorT and said, "No worries, go ahead and ship mine."  only to find out he was waiting to ship anyway so they could go in 1 package to CA, then in USPS to the rest of us for speedy delivery in the USA.  Couldn't figure out why we're asked if we did or did not need a battery if the order was being held regardless for an expedited shipping service.  See what I mean?  We heard everything was shipped, then nearly a week later we learned it was not shipped, and wouldn't ship for another few days. Today we are figuring out it won't ship until next mon/tues, which is a week after a few of us said, "Go ahead and ship mine without a battery pack." LOL, if that doesn't cause confusion nothin' will.

It is now further complicated by the above post giving an additional option of 'not waiting to be shipped with the others in Batch #2B' next Mon/Tues (assuming customs releases his batteries).  I'm out!   :o - I'm not going to further confuse myself.

I have ZERO question about IgorT's reputation - I know the laser will be on it's way as soon as it can be (it might already be) - just thought that it already was (since I do not need an emergency battery and was given the option of having it go ahead and ship). Looks like whether you do or do not need a battery, it will ship at the same time with the rest of Batch #2B (those waiting for batteries).

Also, WizardKing - good to see another R/C enthusiast!  What do you race/fly/crash???
