Finally! PT-54 Flashlight

Not anymore. That extra glass lens sitting on top of the led pretty much took up all of my space. It's now just fixed at a fine focus so that it's always a square of red light.

If i make another i'll make the heat sink shorter so that the LED sits farther down. Then the acrylic lens alone will focus it just fine and it will be fully focusable.

Also i forgot to mention, the switch in these host can't handle the current. they burn out in less than a second.
I had to take the switch from a trust fire tr-801 host to make it work...
even the switch from one of my P7 lights fried. but for some reason this tr-801's switch worked fine and it was like a 100 lumen light.

I was about to say I played with that little lens and it made a square output. I can see why they want a square output in the projector but I would prefer a round one.

Do you mind me asking where you got the green and blue LEDs? I wouldn't mind having a matching set either.

Also, would it be too much trouble to measure that reflector for me? The height, diameter of the opening and diameter of the inlet is all I need.

That's perfect Yob! I've been planning on making a host for these LEDs for a while now but the reflector design had me stumped. At least now I know what size reflector works well for these LEDs!

Wouldn't the green light be atleast 50 times more bright?
The chart says 1500, but that's assuming you're using 650nm and I'm not sure what you're going with there. But with ~525nm, it would be... I can't even explain it.

It's 623 nm I think. Green would be almost 3 times brighter.

my power supply min volts is 5v would it be safe to use with this led or is it to much ?

Question for Moh and Yob , how are you guys soldering onto the gold plated negative ? it just doesn't want to stick very well for me.

Its hard to get it to stick.

You have to use a High Watt Iron.

At Minimum 40W. I Use a 60W so I dont have to leave it on the LED for so Long.

First Put a Tab of Flux down and Tin your Iron Tip really good.

Let it heat up then touch the Flux and hold it there until you see some of the solder transfer over to the LED Gold Plate.

Dont leave it on to long as it might damage the LED.

Then After you tined the Gold Plate it should be much easier for you to connect your wire to it.

Yea I dont think that is going to do the trick.

Even my 40W doesn't really work. It will put solder on the Gold Pad but you can easily chip it off with your Finger.

I wish I new another way to recommend to you, But i think using a High W iron 60W or more is the only way to get it done quick and without damage or leaving your iron on the pad for a wail.

The Problem is that thick copper plate the LED sits on. :maddd:

Hopefully another member has another Trick to try and Recommend to you.

On a side note : since the Green and Blue have different Vf , What would be a good driver recommendation to drive these? Right now my red is at direct drive.
