I guess I was trying to say that he's very aware of his actions but is purposely doing nothing about it. Because he's not an idiot and such simple business courtesy is not rocket science. In fact, it's common sense.

Well I have met him twice and he was friendly but not overly so.

He has put a lot of time in his new and much touted lasershow SW, but if this is how he will treat those who buy.. glad I went with Pango. The FB3 QS 2.0 may cost more but you will never wait long for help- they have a forum and chat too. If you are USA or Canada- I can help to get lowest price for QS. Dr. Lava/Nautlius Integration

Just to reiterate "Dr. Lava" and nautlis integration and his driver website are now totally fraudulent. No longer are any products delivered, nor will you receive money. I bought a few drivers on behalf of a university, never received them nor have I gotten a refund (ordered on april 18).

I can't help but agree. He really needs to do something with his website. It would take almost no effort to shut it down or to put up a simple message.

I need to 'correct' that...Andrew was very friendly at SELEM 2010- I showed him a diy handheld I had with intermitant problems and he took it, found the loose wire and a soldering iron and fixed it for me quick that was nice of him and I am surprized how, now, Andrew is not being as nice.

I wasn't trying to be a dick or to come off as rude. Its just getting to the point that it's funny because we've had so many complaints about dr lava lately.

Seems to be an echo in hear, I'm hearing " dr. Lava should not be accepting money with no products to send"

Honestly I'm surprised no one has.

It really only takes minutes to take down a website. Depending on the number of customers... a few hours to issue refunds/cancel orders.

The reason no one has done anything real, even in the face of obvious bad business, is because so many people remember the things that lava once did for our community. And even I, with as loud as I've been about this, haven't forgotten those things either. Times have changed now, though.. and drlava's influence on the greater laser community is no longer good.

I've always suspected (and still do) that lava's current business ethic is as simple as this:

"I am the great and powerful Drlava/Andrew Kibler/Dr. Kibbles-n-bits. No one else can build what I build or write the programs I write, so if customers want what I'm selling they are going to wait as long as I feel like and go through whatever kind of crap I feel like."

Note the attention that this ethic gives to the experience that the customer has. It's not even the tiniest concern.. It's all about drlava.

The problem is, there is enough talent within our own community that we can build comparable devices and software without the need for drlava or his shitty business ethic.

Many people have talked about the fact that he moved (and he has already moved, he is no longer moving) and that he has fathered spawn, and that he is just sooooo busy with life. None of which are valid excuses anywhere else in the business world. But there are those in the laser community who, on account of the fact that they have their heads squarely up drlava's poop chute, feel that ALL of the customers who have been slighted by Andrew/drlava/Dr. Kibbles-n-bits/Nautilus Integration are just big meanies and big-time assholes for voicing our concerns when people screw with our money. After all, drlava is soooooooo freaking awesome that he SHOULD be allowed to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, no matter what the costs to others.
