Dead alien in Russia

Why so much smilies? You're so happy that there's a possiblity of a dead extraterrestial being out there?

I saw that video few days ago. It's incredibly realistic... kind of hard to point out what could be fake in it.

Wow, great SFX!:tinfoil::tinfoil:

Dead alien my eye, that's a movie prop, a puppet.

I'm the first to believe in extraterrestrial life, but all these videos of dead aliens (without subsequent documentation) evoke in me some hilarity...

If there were aliens, unless there'd been some interplay between the genes on this planet and the genes on another planet, it's so unlikely to have our homeobox genes for a symmetrical body with four limbs that it's barely worth considering. Also, upright? Wtf.

Calling bullsh*t!

If I understood right (there's a Croatian forum for these kind of things), this video has a lot of background making me believe it's pretty much genuine.

It'd take long to explain but, a month ago in Russia there was an explosion not too far from the place this video is allegedly filmed. You never heard of it? Exactly. Some say goverments did a lot to keep this all hush-hush.

Also there's some data involved about precise location, who was involved and what not... didn't go through it all.

But, for all I know, that video might as well be for real this time.

It's funny when you think of it, how many crappy hoaxes are there, how the hell would one know a genuine video when one would saw one?

It's easy to say all of them are fake. Perhaps some are not. But how the hell can you tell? :D

Yes and no... an humanoid life form could be evolved in other planets for adaptive convergence... it's unlikely but not impossible

I think it is very selfish to think that the earth is the only planet with "intelligent" existence. For the video itself, I bet my 589nm that this is nothing more than FAKE.

think about it like this... what are the odds the aliens would look exactly like they do in hollywood? this one in the vid sure does lol.

and about earth being the "only" life giving planet... no way. there is an infinite amount of life giving planets.... that is if space really is limitless.

Life as we know it adapts and evolves and adaptations that are beneficial for the environment are "selected."
Through natural selection some adaptive features may be found in many species that are not directly related in their ancestry. This is called convergent evolution. Basically, what it means, is that when nature finds a solution that works, it often returns to that solution in many places.

A good example of this is the fauna of Madagascar.
There are many animals that live there, and only there, that have been isolated for millions of years and have assimilated characteristics that are extremely similar to other animals that are not related at all.

For example, the Fossa is related to the mongoose but in isolation it has evolved to fill the niche of the apex predator on the island. It has a catlike appearance and is almost like a small puma, however it is not related to felines.

So who is to say that life elsewhere could not have found similar adaptations that reflect those of Homo Sapiens?
Life can very well be unimaginably different but it can also turn out to be remarkably similar.

Just a thought. ;)

BTW, I don't believe in alien sightings but I do believe there is life out there, somewhere. The only way we will find any life outside our planet (with current tech) is if it exists somewhere in our solar system. Otherwise the distances are much, much too vast.

I have no doubt somewhere out there was, is or will be intelligent life.
But contact between two intelligent species from different planets?
It's impossible, distances are way too big, even if you could travel at light speed.
By the time you arrive at the other star, the civilization will be gone.

I mean, what are the chances?

Forget extraterrestrials. Not gonna happen.

Yeah, i know about convergent evolution. But, lets say life on our planet and life on theirs originated in the same way. That is, spread from the original single-celled source. How many times would evolution have to favour such similar developments for them as it did for us? I'm putting it crudely (it's a continuum rather than a discrete set, but anyway) how many species were passed through to create the first human? And at every step, every change that occurred (relating to similarities between me and that thing) to create humans would have also had to occur for them.

Four limbs, the implication being two for propulsion and two for manipulation. A skeleton. A "face" (that is, sensory organs clustered around one location on the body). What looked like eyes (they're pretty horribly complicated) and what looked like a mouth with a definite jaw structure. Jointed limbs. Upright-ness.

Yeah... not buying it.

Like others have said, maybe intelligent life exists, maybe it doesn't. But that's peripheral, the point i'm making is that this video is a fake.

"Sometimes i think the biggest signal that there must be intelligent life out there is the fact that it hasn't tried to contact us" - Roughly a quote from Calvin and Hobbes.

I say its true, now hand it over :D

Perhaps more times than you think, the theory of panspermia is based on this ;)
