Cooking with TJ

And you repped me for posting a picture of the 3 stooges.

If you rep me for nothing, you're getting it back. Oh, you never insult me? You make fat jokes all the time when you're talking to me. Keep the BS flowing hypocrite. Who the hell are you to pass judgment on me?

I'm done dealing with you. If you want to keep it up fine, but stop crying about me and MFO all over the forum. You've had the power to stop it all along. Its only you that keeps it going.

Please enlighten me (and everyone else), to the jokes I have made to your weight.

Yes I will stop it now because as I have stated again & again, you love the drama. You just can help yourself.

I'm sorry-- I thought you were done-- plz just let me know when you are, as I have some great recipes to share in T_J's THREAD. May I suggest you start you own thread in disputes or whatever, please.

Ice Chest potatoes...easy to do for a large feed.

Wash a bag of potatoes and remove any bad spots but leave basically unpeeled. Cut the bigger ones so that all end up being about the same size.(thus same cook time)

Boil them in a big pot until 'almost' done(pull a big one and check the center)

Drain and dump quickly into a dry clean ice chest of proper size. Just so there is enough room to stir them a little.SIZE]

Cover with shredded Cheddar cheese --generously,

Add plenty of real bacon bits( the best are ones you make yourself)

Add chopped green removed tops or better- chives-or both

Salt and course black pepper to taste.

Give it all a big stir and close the lid-quick.

Can be served straight from the ice chest.

Best served immediately.

Sour Cream on the side is a good add on.

With the lid closed it will stay hot/warm for a long time.

There should be none left over.

This is really good one-- great for a bunch of friends to share. Hope you all have friends!!!

Sound s great Len. I'll try it at our first BBQ. I hate potato salad, so this will be a great substitution. Man, thank you for these killer recipes. Also a big thank you to the rest of you, please add more. Maybe we can make a LPF cookbook. LOL.

All these recipes look mighty good, but oh man I love shepperd's pie....but could never make it right. For my next attempt (after I check the batteries in the smoke alarms) I shall use your recipe T_J ..Thanks:beer:

@Crazy Jay....after I did a Google search for Ziti, your recipe sounds pretty darn good to.

@Hak...if I got around dry ice, I would most likely get into trouble :D

The hardest thing in making shepperd's pie is getting the salt right. Its really easy to add too much. Just taste each layer, and add as needed. The soysauce, and gravy add a lot of salt, that why I didnt mention salting it. Remember that the mashed potatoes are salted too.

Some people add peas too.

Its 5 am and now i hungry...
I blame you!
So much listing of good food but all the grocery stores are closed. WHY?
Its 5am and i would love some meatloaf, Home made mashed potato's and some red wine.
I am going to bed hungry and sad now, but i will go to sleep tomorrow full and happy.
Just 4 more hours till the stores open....

I know the feeling, but I have food. Just to lazy to cook. I made some homemade leechi jello, and have been snacking on that for last few hours. I'm off to bed too. Peace all.

^^^^^^^^ IIRC -I don't remember saying anything about dry ice--? post #?--

btw:yh: nice stuff to play around with using lasers. It can be used to super -cool the output from a fogger and with minimal air movement(turn off fans, ac, etc) it lays on the floor. I used to get some free from our local ice cream man when he made a run to stock-up his freezers.:can: try it!!!..............................................................................OK--- I wrote to put the cooked potatos in a clean dry ice chest-- meaning to dry it out afterwashing and before dumping the taters.

speaking of lychee's... i also dabble in mixology.. because what is good food with out good drink!!!!
i make a killer lychee martini

1 can lychee in syrup
grey goose vodka
watermelon liquer
martini glass
home made simple syrup..(take 1cup of sugar and put in sauce pan, slowly add water and bring to boil. add only enough water to make suger into a clear syrup.)

2 3 ounces of simple syrup
1.5 ounce vodka
2 table spoons of lychee syrup from can.
add ice and shake

pour into glass. then super slowly pour in the watermelon liquer from and angle so that way it sinks to the bottm.. do not let it mix. that way you will get great color contrast.

take a tall stir stick and put a whole lychee on it and stick in glass. then serve

Lychees are the bomb. We used to get them fresh in the supermarket, but I think I was the only one buying them, so they stopped carrying them. But I found an Asian store that carries them. I even started growing a lychee tree, till I found out it takes 25 years to get decent fruit.

I'll try that recipe. I've had them in Asian restaurants, and they were quite tasty.

oh man, ive always wanted to try it fresh.. but my local stores dont have it. i live about 30 miles from little saigon but it's one of those things i never remeber to stop and grab when im in the area....
25 years jeez... and i was impatient about the 2 years it takes for the artichokes i just planted LoL

Yeah I need to lay off the keyboard, when the pain meds are doing the reading for me :twak:

Know that feeling--btw I went to a hugh BDay party Sat. somebody made those and used a throw away styro chest --that sure made clean-up easy.. also..its kinda hard to get the taters and cheese off the serving spoon- so we use a ice cream scooper-the kind with thumb lever- this recipe is cave-man easy.

They really do sound good ( even without the dry ice :D ) I'll give er a go. Your BBQ sounds awesome, even though I'm a wuss when it comes to the hot pepper..mouth on fire...running for the water hose thing :)
