I think that you and I are both testing the same lens.

Mine is the same diameter, back focal length, NA,  and low-loss @ 400-600 nm.

I have been getting extremely good results as well.

Just to repeat...

Someone else told me about the supplier. And there is a good price break if you buy 50 to 100, but I don't want to do that. Because I respect Igor and he did a lot of R&D to find the right lenses...

Plus, I believe he is going to have them pre-mounted in a nut fit for AixiZ.

What I am offering is expensive. That is, the cost in parts alone is about $45 bucks. I will be making about $15 dollars for the AixiZ glass lens nut modification and custom spacer.

So I don't expect too many people to ask me to do the mod because of the price. And the few that do, should not really impact Igor's upcoming GB...

Yeah, I'm just trying to "get by" on some of these until Igor can get his lens GB going

When that happens, they should be a lot more economical and I'll probably end up buying a crapload of em, haha.

Because I don't see how it could get much better. No kidding, this lens is awesome!

It would not surprise me if we find out that Igor's best lens that he has tried, turns out to be this very same lens! He has tried a bunch of different lenses. Probably this is one of them...

From the info Igor has posted, his best lens has a NA of ( .55).

This new lens has a higher NA which should:

1. capture more power from the diode

AND

2. give a smaller beam diameter.

Those are the lens qualities I require for my UV & Red lasers.

I appreciate the work that Igor has done ...

but it has been months of waiting.

According to the readings Dave got with that 8X diode using an AixiZ acrylic lens, you would get 375mW's with this glass lens at 275mA's!

Oh man I am drooling. All I can think of right now is 300+ mW of single mode violet goodness. Hopefully they aren't terribly unstable and can be mode locked.

Looking at the graph from the readings that Dave recorded, you could easily get over 300mW's...

Using this glass lens (or Igor's), you would be over 300mW's at even 220mA's!

Well, I would just be worried about killing the diode. The method I use for mode locking sends about 20% of the light back in for the feedback. Though, if they are anything like the phr's in burliness I'm not too worried about it.

It's not really that bad for just the lens...

Remember, we are talking 26% increase over AixiZ acrylic!

But you have to be able to mount it perfectly. Using an AixiZ glass lens nut was the easiest way I could find. That means more for parts.

I have shown detailed pictures and given the exact measurements needed for doing the modification if you want to DIY.

If you want me to do the mod, please remember that I'm not charging much for the work, so don't take the price out on me...
