Anybody else never gotten an efficient diode?

Eh. I'm not so sure about that. My last two 9mm's, driven at 2.1-2.2A, only went to 2.4-2.5W.

I think not, seeing as how normal 9mm @ 2.5 amps go past the 3.3w mark

Who told you that?

Maybe 50% of diodes if that will even go over 3W being driven that high and maybe one in 24 diodes will hit 3.5W @ 2.56A according to RT's estimates. The norm is certainly not 3.3W @ 2.5A. The average @ 2.3A is 2.5W-3W.

Oh, i must have misread. I was always under the impression for some reason that 9mm go above 3 watts pretty easily. oh well

Getting 3W out of a 9mm is like getting 2W out of the A140's back in the day. It is all a matter of luck and efficiency.

Yup, I remember those days with the A140's.

Albeit, I've had better luck with the 9mm's than the A140's. Would be interesting to see data from 100 or so 9mm's being over driven. They never list it on the spec sheet.

My fire farter does over 2.5W @ only 2A... it pegs my meter out in like a second it's a bad boy for sure.

I have never had a 3500mW 9mm diode.. But why the heck would you want more then 3W? I find it pretty much unneccecairy.

I almost can't even tell the difference between 2W and 3W :p

greetings,,
