Another one of my crazy projects :D

Psh max safety  You're going to be flying off this thing :D

:gj:  WOW those are huge batteries!!!!

How fast did you say you wanted to go again?

With those 2 motors, you might as well build an electric bike!!

Haha, with the motor on the left, my max speed will be like 50km/h, but it'll probably be software limited to a more sane <40km/h, because of the short steering coupling.

The motor on the right is the old motor out of the scooter, it's pissweak! :D

Got my controller today, looks like everything will fit nicely with 3 batts and room on the side for connectors!

You might want to add a temp sensor just to make sure those batteries hold up.
Li-ion cells aren't deep cycle.
Really monitor those cells. I'd hate to see you pull more current than they'll allow, and KATO
on you!

Each of them batteries can have a maximum discharge current of 200amps continuously with a 250amp peak for 10 seconds!

Yeah, my motor controller would explode loooonnngggg before these LiPo's even broke a sweat.

I'm working on a complete battery management system for this project at the moment :)

Let me know how it turns out. I am seriously considering building one.

+1 if I can.

Well, after a bit more research and testing, it appears this controller isn't gonna work for my situation :(

It's designed for hub motors, which are physically much larger and spin much slower.

So, well, I've gone for broke and bought one of the big guns, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=20547

I'm gonna die is the biggest understatement of the year, this thing is a BEAST!

Of course, to make it more bearable, I'll be doing throttle manipulation on my microcontroller, so that I can limit the max ramp up.

Oh my god.

1080A burst current lol prepare to die (tomorrow)

Yep, I'll be going up 70 degree inclines at 40kph on this beast :D

Chain will probably be the firs thing to go.

I remember my first electric scooter, it did 18mph on a good day and weight close to 50lbs

Haha, this thing stock, on flat ground will get me to about 19km/h slowly, but I'm not exactly lightweight either. It's performance was pretty decent considering. but obviously not enough for me

Found this in the news paper......

"Less that 200W" is what I want them to think :D

Dammit they're already onto me!

Put some inline blade fuse holders on my batts, and modded an old xbox 360 PSU to power the batt charger. Should make a nice convenient portable charger :D
