Hey Eitan... Why do not respond to this? You are viewing the thread? If you can't respond to individual email why are you just sitting there viewing this thread and saying nothing?

My guess is he may not be here. Could be he left his computer open to this thread.

Granted, he's prolly read over the new posts a few times since he made the thread.

It's kinda funny... The website is called sci-fi lasers.. Fi meaning "fiction" or "fake" and his email and user name is The Joker as in he's "joking us around".... Kinda seems like this was meant to be a scam from the beginning.

Oh come on folks. How naive can you be?

This was apparently his sole source of income for quite a while now. Do you really think he isn't finding a half hour a day to keep up to date on the forum?

With even a semi proper workshop, and parts in hand, lasers are really, really, not hard to make when you're not making your own hosts, drivers, heatsinks, etc,. Joker wasn't.

Pretty much a variant of this. Joker was relying on later orders to fund the completion of his earlier orders. Meanwhile he was using his operating money to cover personal expenses.(Gotta live right) Somebody with contacts in Israel REALLY needs to report this guy to the local authorities. International Ponzi schemes and mail fraud huh.

That's what I said from the begining, that this was a ponzi scheme. Cut and dry clear as day.

Yes, That's his youtube, I had not seen that one, LOL

Just a guess, but my account just might get banned from Paypal.

But, if Paypal won't give me my money back all nice like because they'd like to play moral mallcop, I'd be okay with being done with their service.

Besides, if I really needed to use Paypal again, I could buy a Visa giftcard and put it on a new account.

So now it looks like we not only have to worry about whether or not we'll get our money back, but also whether or not we could actually get in legal trouble or even have our account locked? I currently have a $28 balance in my account and was waiting (another 9 days) to see if I get get refunded before withdrawing it all. They charge for each transaction. But if in 9 days, they decide that not only am I not getting a refund, but they're locking my account, I'd be out what is already there.

OTOH, I have to really question how hard they'd want to come down on us legally. Sure, lasers over 5mw are frowned upon. But I really doubt there are any governing authorities out there who are really looking to go after people who build/sell/buy/own lasers. It's not like they're illegal drugs, guns, child prostitutes, *** slaves, or anything else we normally hear authorities go after. They're just lasers--beams of light that are used in common household electronics--not exactly something to declare war against. Can you imagine a SWAT team breaking into your house one day and yelling, "Where's the laser? WHERE'S THE LASER?" "Who is your supplier? We want names!"

You misunderstood. We're talking about having our bank reverse the charge(which screws paypal out of the money if I'm correct). It will get the money back, but paypal will probably be pretty pissed about it.

Paypal has no interest whatsoever in policing laser sales, or anything else. PayPal's interests end at making money through transaction fees, and interest while holding funds.

Unless you specifically point out its a laser you ordered that may be illegal, they are not likely to know, and more importantly care.

An account could be terminated if you file a claim against PayPal itself though which is what some are considering.

I understand that part, but I was responding to where people were talking about legal problems we could get into if Eitan handed over our personal data, or if Paypal decided not to pay us back because they were "prohibited" items.

As for doing chargebacks, it's an option. I linked my PP account to my credit card and that's how the money flowed. Should we just be doing a chargeback through the credit card company/bank instead of asking PP to send a refund? I paid with my credit card, but PP acted as a middle-man.

You know the Joker bumped his sales page today also his website shut down today I'm wondering if the authorities shut his website down because he himself bumped his page today
