About downtime - hardware failure

sorry for the downtime guys, the last day or so i got basically no sleep over this issue. i finally got everything restored just a few minutes ago. there was a hardware failure and the latest backup i had was from april 22

so unfortunately there was some data loss

im going to pay extra to get daily tape backups, which will backup the backups that i manually generate while the forum is maintenance mode so i dont need to keep downloading backups as frequently. this will ensure in the future that something like this never happens again.

im sticking with icestorm despite this issue, the site has been blazing fast since using them instead of godaddy and no load issues at all. this hardware failure was simply unlucky.

the forum should be back to normal now if you notice any errors please contact me ASAP

I just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work and dedication in bringing the forum back to life from the hardware crash!

As you've stated, the seed of the site has been much better since switching to the new hosting company, and on that note, is there any possibility of increasing the number of search results from 10 to something higher? It's kind of hard to really find anything if the search term is even remotely common. Allowing a larger number of results, or even the possibility of specifying date ranges would help immensely...

not a problem, LPF is my job and i something i love working on. its not always easy with stuff like this but nothing in life is without some difficulties. i just dropped a support ticket for paying more for daily tape backups, ill let u guys know what happens
