8X Burner sleds, 1st time ever in a GB!

Just for my own curiosity and anyone else that may be interested...

Do you know, Glenn, what the difference(s) between the fake 8x sleds and the genuine ones is/are? I know Dave has verified these to be correct from the photos in the first post but what tells him they are the genuine article?

I'm happy to go ask elsewhere if I'm drifting off topic but it seems appropriate here.

Would be good to know for future reference.

I think the differences between the "fake" and "real" is the shape of the metal near the diodes - I vaguely remember something about small fins for heat around the diode (don't quote me on it though).

EDIT: Kevinmassey pointed me in the right direction for the current here; looks like 300mA should be safe to drive these at.

I's stick with 350mA for longevity, but you could push it for more power if you want, but at the risk of your diode :undecided:
