Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Thanks for the info. I"ll start looking around.

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Yes,1 or 2 weeks more for the laser finish,I am dream every night about this laser...is this normal?:)

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Looks like someone has got a lot of patience!

As always, good job ARG!

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

It's great doing business with them.
They are Pro!!!
Thanks Mrcrouse and ARGLaser

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Thanks Cel!

Thanks pauljohn :)

I did more work on the alignment today I think I'm going to have to move the cube to get the right near field alignment.

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Near & far field alignment is done on the blue diodes, the epoxy is still extremely tacky though so it could still fall out of alignment while drying.

Strange that I had to worry about near field alignment this time, last time I was able to align for far field and the near field just fell into place; no such luck this time, I had to move the mirror around to find the right place to strike the cube so the near & far field would line up.

Edit: Yup, aligned went all terrible when I let it go, going to re-try and hold it for an hour while it drys :tired:

Cant wait until you finish this laser :)
Great Work as always !

How is this thing coming? Any updates?

Working on it more this weekend, I lost the spot that the mirror has to be aligned on to get perfect near & far field alignment. Think I've got it again, got to glue it down now.

After that it's onto the 638nm dichro + mirror alignment.

Any news? I'm emotionally invested into this build.... (stupid love of shiny stuff)

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

It continues, at a slow pace. These multi-diode builds never get easier. Optical side should be done soon, then I need to figure out the electrical.

Done the blue alignment. Power readings will be taken in a bit. The battery and cathode ray tube cup are there to prevent the system from rolling over.

Edit:
5.2W at 2A
5.3W at 2.1A
5.4W at 2.2A

Since the one diode will be driven at 2.1A and one at 2.2A 5.35W from the blue diodes is a reasonable estimation.

Looks like my combined 5.6W power estimate may be low :D Might be able to hit 6.1W

WOW nice work! You sure know how to polish a flyback suction cup!

Re: Build: Tri-Diode laser Est. 5.6W

Nice to see the project moving along :) Been following this 3 diode build since the beginning. 6.1w is awesome for a handheld laser
