I don't damage the soft metal of the LD when being seated.
I had an 18" telescopic radio Antenna that I took apart and one of the
sections had an Inside Diameter to fit over the 5.6mm LD...
I use that section to remove the LDs. It fits nicely between the LD lens hat
and the Aixiz module... and pushes on the LD's Mounting flange..

I too have done this. I was surprised to see it fit as well as it did. Shocked I hope I could use this on a 6x to get it out alive and with little damage.

I have a bunch of them, and have not found them helpful in press-fitting diodes :phoenix77 said:If your careful you can use the .22 caliber brass to press fit & remove the diodes. Found free at any shooting range

wow i dont think even with the phr sales ive done that ive pressed that many diodes. i might be interested in one though. the only downside is that its brass. i think id want something a little more solid than that. right now im using a c clamp and a bit holder from a cheap chinese screwdriver i had and it works great but its made out of softer metal too and its starting to deform a little... :-/
drew said:
