5.6mm Laser diode, hollow press tool feeler

Just a quick update, I have to wait till tomorrow, as the hobby shop was out of the stock needed. They will have it in the morning and will try to get as many out as possible.

I will only have 15 availible, so if you havent PM'd a request, now is the time. I will reply with my Paypal add'y for payment, as posting P/P info publicly doesnt sit well with me...

I have one of these... and I prefer the softer Brass to something harder...
I don't damage the soft metal of the LD when being seated.

I had an 18" telescopic radio Antenna that I took apart and one of the
sections had an Inside Diameter to fit over the 5.6mm LD...
I use that section to remove the LDs. It fits nicely between the LD lens hat
and the Aixiz module... and pushes on the LD's Mounting flange..

I too have done this. I was surprised to see it fit as well as it did. :o I hope I could use this on a 6x to get it out alive and with little damage.

Yes... the antenna section tube has a nice thin wall...
I was surprised at the stiffness of the thin tube...

If your careful you can use the .22 caliber brass to press fit & remove the diodes. Found free at any shooting range

I have a bunch of them, and have not found them helpful in press-fitting diodes ::)
The first and last time i tried, the brass deformed and severed the pins off of my open can :o :'( >:(
I advise against this...

I have already spent waaaaay too much on this new hobby of mine.  Want to send me one for free?  8-)

Sure! send me a free laser first though ::)

how about instead of trying to make $20 you tell us how to make them ourselves..

lol, well people have there trade secrets, Dr.Lava's driver is a example. Dont expect everyone to tell you how they make everything :-/.

Ive pressed just under 200 diodes...
wow i dont think even with the phr sales ive done that ive pressed that many diodes. i might be interested in one though. the only downside is that its brass. i think id want something a little more solid than that. right now im using a c clamp and a bit holder from a cheap chinese screwdriver i had and it works great but its made out of softer metal too and its starting to deform a little... :-/[/quote]

:) i had a little metal hammer came came apart into like 5 different screw drivers, and the 2nd to smallest broke completely and i was left with a little metal pipe about an inch long that fits perfectly...so i use it as my diode press :)
