473nm 80mW from O-like (with AC psu, TEC and TTL modulation)

It would be nice if it was overspec but looking at the specifications its rated at 50-80mw with 80 probably being peak power.

With all due respect, that price is a lot cheaper then what i had in mind for 80mW's of true blue. And given O-like's rep you might just get around 90mW's once its stable  Only one thing stands between me and pressing the "add to cart" button, my parents :P Nice find BTW

Not too shabby. My only concern would be the fact that it is not a known brand (that I could tell, anyway). Blue lasers are very finicky, so I might be concerned with the prospects of getting a nice stable one. But for that price, it's a great deal.. could be perfectly fine for all I know.

Hell if it works at all that is a killer deal.

A decent crystal set and output coupler alone is close to $300....

:evil::evil:

It turned my head too, when I saw that 2 days ago. Nice price if it reliably puts out 80mw. Thats alot of blue beam for the price. My concern is beam divergence, due to crystal alignment. But looks like a great deal.

473nm 80mW blue laser diode£*>473nm blue laser£*>Laser&lighting products£*>www.0-like.com

Not exactly cheap ..... but wondering if, as some other o-like products, also this can be a bit overpowered, respect the specifications :p :D

Other than this, with 30 KHz pwm mod, can be also simulated an analog proportional modulation ..... :eg:

you can also see the 80mw 473mw blue(Volunteer series) at LaserPointerPen.Net and their support team andy said it could reach 100mw generally; i doubted it a little before i received its TOPLASER 150mw green laser from them and great model. green proves to be around 170-200mw in power and the beam is three times brighter than the 125mw green laser from laserto site and 150mw green from highlasers(they finally refunded me). easy to light the cigarette. i begin to trust them now..

Im gonna get this 80mw blue model when i have enough $$, and it seems to be cni's blue model but much cheaper. anyway who can say no to a 100mw blue 473 at such good price.
any advice? thanks.

What about the quality of the laser pointers from olike?

There are countless reviews of o-like here. Try the search button at the top of the page to find them. They aren't the best quality, but for the $$$ they cant be beat

Laserpointerpen.com has some terrible prices, most of their products are twice the price of other sites that sell the exact same item. I would stick to o-like if I were you, they have been tested over and over to be trustworthy.

hey man i agree with your point, and cheap price can really attract so many people, but i have too much concerns via my Chinese friends and he confessed that there were so many companies who just make inferior models upon the cool model they come across on the street. "copy is right" is what defines "copyright" there I support cheaper price but i hate "plagiarists". For example, reading a pirated book may be as enjoyable as reading copyrighted book as long as you can read the content you like; to me,
o-like looks more like a plagiarist who imitate any good model with some third-class technicians at lower cost, but who can guarantee the quality. Some friends who get good lower powered models from it just claim they also have good high powered green or blue models.
We all have much concerns and certainly it needs take the risk. But i hate 'a penny saved is a penny wasted". we're just laser hobbist, not rich men.
I'm not in support of any laser site, and i admit that i'm hesitant when laserpointerpen.net promised me the power, stability and a year's warranty for unconditional refund, exchange or repair...
I can't afford any now, so let's try.
I'm bad English speaker and was just pissed off due to my inarticulation. Hope you don't mind. wish you all luck and success.

i agree with your thoery man, just try and hope you get what you pay for. I'm making money so as to take the risk...lol..:yabbem:

You're not telling the truth. I compared at least seven online laser stores before i bought the 150mw green laser from LaserPointerPen.Net, and their price is more competitive than techlaser, dragonlaser or other known brands, at least for those 150mw to 700mw lasers. When you wanna buy a laser, please compare the price of the products on the same level.

You seem to be a fan of o-like, that's okay. but why not be a little just? A group of laser buyers are reading our thread for future laser purchase.

You " tested them over and over"? You make us think you do the quality inspection job. Before i was trapped by highlasers, their customer support, they emphasized that their team woud test the laser three times.

If you were their tester, you can say that. I would spend my money on it.

I hope you can be a little more responsible for laser buyers.

^o-like has been proven by time, whch is even more reliable than any QC guy. I've bought lots of stuff from o-like and have been consistently satisfied, and so has almost anyone else that has posted an opinion about them or their products. In fact, I can't think of a single complaint that I've seen about their products. The shipping can take a little while so I've seen some complaints from impatient people, but the stuff is coming from China so I'd expect the cheap shipping options to take awhile.

Also, GooeyGus summed it up perfectly earlier. If this laser produces any blue it's a good deal. The internal parts alone would cost you more than this if you or I were to try to buy them and build one.. It's a great deal no matter what. Best not to nitpick it too much. It would be akin to complaining about a free lunch.

I wouldn't say that their prices are terrible, but I will agree with the rest of what you stated. :)

Well, yes, but their page say also $1,439.59 for an 80 mw pointer ..... no TEC, no AC power supply, no modulation ..... and sincerely, i have absolutely nothing against laserpointerpen, but at that price, they can keep their lasers themselves :p

If you need an 80 mW or similar for a long-use application, like scanners and show machines, pointers are not the choice, regardless how much good they are made ..... you need a lab style, with a decent cooling system for the long time use, and an AC power supply, also for the stability and module life.

Ofcourse, you can always take out the module from a pointer and made a holder yourself, including TEC and PSU, but it's another expense, and you risk to break the pointer inside too ..... so, for these applications, better use lab style ..... and i also have to apologize for having said "not exactly cheap", perhaps ..... was thinking the price was a bit high, for an 80 mw unit, but looking around for similar items prices, perhaps have to retire that part of the phrase :p :D
