Re: 405nm AR glass lenses - fit AixiZ FEELER
Well.. I still have many more tests to do. And that is just with these! I kinda don't see a visual difference between the 405nm AR coating and the ML coating.. Hmm.
I need to test them on a red. If the power is the same with both lenses, then all are ML.. If so, well. Then i would be a bit angry, to say the least.... On a red, the ML should bring a 18-20% increase, and the 405nm should only do like 11-13%.. If both do the same....
Also, i need to compare the results with the aspherics from the other manufacturer.. There are some distortions present here, that manifest themselves as "wings". At first i thought that the lens is dirty..
I heard the Meredith has something similar, but i have not yet even made a Meredith based blu ray.. Need to compare the results!
I have some ideas that i need to try. But if they don't work, the custom lens might have to be an aspheric..
I hope it doesn't come to that tho.
So, there is a lot of work ahead of me now.
Oh, and Dave.. I figured out why my freaks kept dying! One of them was actually doing 228mW before optics!
Add reflections to that, and you have a week of fun and then a dead diode..
The weaker the diode, the longer it survives a certain current. And the lack of reflections here will help too! More info in the batch testing thread...
Needless to say, with the known transmittance, i can now finally figure out what the MAX optical flux is, that these diodes can take..
And no more worries about x% reflections.. At this point, x is <0.5%..
I will have a permanent 200mW beam piercing the air in my workshop tomorrow.
