Got my 4 10280's today and the charger from peakled ;D now comes the hard part for me drilling out that tail cap and i am done. Also i called peak led about getting more he says he has a few so get them while you can. Does anyone know the min~ max voltage for these 10280's ?

Voltage wise, they are the same as a normal lithium rechargeable...

4.2 volts at full charge. Normal recharge at 3.6, and not recommended to get below 3 volts.

You should have a low current charger because the capacity is only 200mAh. The rule of thumb is a 1C charge rate. (no more that 200mA charge current)

I found this Lithium coin cell 'trickle' charger to be very good at getting full capacity:

Re: 215mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

Thanks for the great info jay you are the man. Bummer though they gave me a nano NBC-A001 dc out 4.2v at 0.45 if i am correct that's 0.45 amps = 450 milliamps o well maybe i can find some other batteries i have laying around to use this charger on. Funny though the sales rep on the phone was like do you need a charger with that, I was like sure do you have the right one, hes like yup.

Re: 215mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

Is it a single cell charger that says Nano? That is a low current charger.

45mA's I believe. I had one. It will work with a spacer. But the coin cell charger is better. It gets the max charge on the battery...

Well, If you want to pay $10 bucks, I'll go down to Lowe's, buy one for you and ship it to you...

If you want any modifications, I would charge another $20 bucks for the head and tail cap mod. But first make sure you can get the 10280.

Great build Jay!
Soo much in such a little package.

The 10280 are so hard to come by...
I'll see if I can get a hold of them and will definitely be in contact!
Thanks for offering to help out your Canadian neighbors.

yes it says nano right on the front i think it was meant for rcr123a's and it came with the right spacer for the 10280's

Just saw this.. Great build Jay! and good explanations on the properties of switcher regulators iGort! You guys impress me I definitely want one.

Re: 215mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

Thanks! :)

And thank you for making your awesome FlexDrives available. The new version 4 is so tiny that it could fit this build without any modification!

I'm in the process of building another tiny build using a chrome host that leukoplast showed me. It is a really nice solid brass chrome coated host that takes a single 10440. It has a tiny tail button clicky too! It's going to be sweet with a 6X. I will be showing it soon. Your version 4 FlexDrive should barely fit inside the tiny pill...

Re: 215mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

how did you connect the switch??

Re: 268mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

For the Key Chain?

The first post shows detailed pictures, but basically, after disabling the stock circuit, you have to find the positive solder point from the spring after you press the button switch. Then connect your lead to the driver from that point. You can do this testing with a DMM...

Do you sale those incredible things??

Re: 268mW 6X Key Chain Blu-ray! - With FlexDrive!

I don't think I will make a separate FS thread because I believe the 10280 batteries are not available...

If you get the batteries, then let me know and I will buy a couple of these hosts to do the tail cap mod and drill out the head for $30 bucks each plus shipping.

I may even be open to a 'hot option'. That is to install a FlexDrive and set the current. But I'm not sure if I want to offer that option with this build, because it is so tight.

Consider yourself warned. It is not an easy build. Also, if you do this build, you will want the special tool that I show in the 1st post for pressing the module in by hand. You need this tool for this type of build, because if you ever need to take the module out, you can't unscrew the head without twisting the wires in this 'tight' build and damaging your driver connections.

I would sell the custom tool for the same as a heatsink... $23 plus shipping...

Finally had time to finish this awesome little build it's a PHR-803T that i got from kendall set at 100 ma. Also i want to say thank you to jay for the great info and attention to detail. I built this whole thing on a real nice drill press and a little help from my dremel. Also i can get the laser module out by threading another module on to the aixiz metal glass lens not the cheap plastic one and it worked fine for me. I know i put a couple dents in it my fault for rushing.
