20mm Copper Modules for 9mm, 5.6mm and 3.8mm Diodes

Since I added the 20mm copper modules for 9mm diodes a few months ago they have been very popular and have had many requests to make it a full set for the 9mm, 5.6mm and 3.8mm diodes. I have been working on the 3.8mm, 5.6mm versions and a machined driver shelf version of the copper back half. They are now ready. :san:

For host kits there will be options available here shortly. Survival Lasers is working on host kit options for them and I have also sent some samples to Jayrob and Flaminpyro as well which have said they will make kits for them as well. These also nicely fit in the 20mm XYZ aluminum bearing mounts for non portable continuous operating applications.

Nice going pal great work with the driver placement sinked to the main sink. Copper rules and these will be an asset to our hobby. And thank you for all the rest of the awesome products you have on hand.
Oh Need more driver options to just a thought , thankful for what we can get though, Im sure everyone else will agree, but as they say beggars can't be choosers LOL !!

Thanks yea the driver mount is awesome. I have a bet these can become more the standard going forward as the 12mm was really getting put to the test for the newer generation diodes and they are amazing on the lower power units. Ran a BDR-209 for several minutes today in just the 20mm module and it was barley warm to the touch.

These things are rock solid top of the line modules...

Just used one for my latest Pocket Sized 1 Watt Green Build. (although I had to custom fit it for the SolarForce)

The full length 12mm modules fit nice in my SolarForce kit.

These new larger diameter modules fit nice in my Mag kit... :beer:

Here are some photos of the Survival Laser prototype 20mm diode module adapter assembled with a DTR 20mm diode module and our S4 host. It will also fit a C6.

The inside lip of the adapter makes direct contact with the module and holds it in compression against the driver pill. By using a small amount of thermal grease, effective heat transfer can be established from the module to the adapter and the pill, and through the rest of the host.

Obviously a good number of different diode-driver combinations can be used in this configuration. I leave it to the imagination of the builder to decide what is the best combination of parts for their application. If you have any questions though, please let me know!

We plan on including a small O-ring that can be placed between the end of the module and the lip of the module adapter to compensate for slight tolerances in the length of the module if necessary.

I recommend using an extended focus ring with this setup because the module is recessed slightly inside the module adapter.

Note that this part is intended for use with the 20mm copper module with the built-in driver shelf. Due to differences in length it will not work with the other versions of the module (although Jordan told me that the other versions will be made the same length sometime in the future).

The production units will be black anodized, and should be available on the SL stores in a few weeks.

Looking good Gary, with that combination of DTR's 20mm module and your adapter, the duty cycle on your S4 host should be increased significantly! :beer:
Hopefully this will become a hot selling mod for the S4's and C6's. Now time to bring on the 'big boy' diodes!

If you're talking about the adapter, yes, we plan to sell it as a separate accessory.

I have been to your site and I can't find the overall length on the copper modules .

Are they all the same length regardless of outer diameter and with or without driver shelf?
