>200mW High Powered Green Laser Comparison

Styro? Are you serious? What the heck kind of a laser-o-holic are you? You really need to get a high powered greeny man. They are the best thing in the world.

Haha, I guess styroawesome and I are the exceptions to the rule :p
The only time I saw a 200mW laser was when a 250mW rated (200mW output) laser I ordered for a client (from glenn, nice guy) arrived.

Yeah I have one. I am workin on Aquiring a somewhat large IR filter.....anyone know where I can get one?

Do you want it to filter IR in the laser or to check if the laser is IR filtered?

If the latter, then you could get an RG610 2mm from Omega Bob on Ebay (very helpful and friendly seller who sent me a free filter to replace one when I ordered the wrong one, first time around). About US$ 15 from memory.

The filter is about about an inch across. It cuts out 100% below 600nm but lets through 92% above 650nm (up to 1100+). It sits nicely above the laserbee sensor.

Yobresal:
I just found my old spare IR filter. It is not super high quality and does have some green loss (1-3%) but if you are interested I can send it out to you.
Dimensions are about 10x9mmx2mm. It's thick and does block 100% IR.

argh! thats really mean, to announce such a review, and then let us wait! :-)
cant wait, this is going to be awesome!

I have added a 350mW Optotronics RPL to the arsenal of lasers I will be reviewing in this thread.

Wow you're a god :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Did you have to take out a loan for this review?

Nah, I just make a lot of money. Plus I plan on getting some of it back when I sell 3 of the 5 lasers.

So you are on a budget and you want to buy a high powered green laser eh? Well There are a couple of option out there to say the least. If you are on a tight budget I am sure you have already shopped out the Rayfoss 250mW IR filtered, the O-like Bargain 400mW (non IR- Filtered) and the Sky Lasers (focalprice) 200mW.
You have to spend $695 if you want the CNI 400mW GB laser! (this is a great deal) So I am going to throw that one in here as a comparison for budget VS non budget I will also throw in an Optotronics RPL 350mW for kicks. After all they are the favorite laser amongst the laser enthusiast who can afford the Ferrari of lasers.

Prices with shipping:

Rayfoss 250mW = $303
O-Like 400mW (non IR filtered)= $377
Focal Price 200mW = $243
CNI 400mW= $695
Optotronics RPL 350mW= $1078

Well I have recently purchased one of each to do a little comparison/review. I have not informed any of the companies of my intentions to compare all of them up against eachother so the lasers I receive should be just as random as anyone else buying one. As soon as they all arrive I will give detailed review of every aspect of these lasers.

Are you sure the O-like 400mW is not-IR filtered? I have one of their 250mW lasers that is IR filtered... (I can take off the aperture cover and see the IR filter glued on last)

Styro, didn't you used to have an X-200?

This is an awesome idea! Really looking forward to seeing the results.

Yobresal, any of your dozens ordered lasers arrived already?

Regards,

laeser.

Not a single one. The wait is killing me too. The CNI is stuck in the GB, the RPL will be here the 26th or 27th, the o-like was waiting for the rest of the order I placed with them but has shipped out and will get here next week, the rayfoss has shipped out and will arrive in the next few days not sure about the SKY.
