I will get a more detailed numbers up later but at firs glance this diode is giving me 636mW@500mA.

Not as efficient even as the one I tested? Interesting. The, "Other Sled", is looking better and better but no sustained comparisons of course.

Thanks for letting me know it has arrived, (I've updated the front page), and the initial figures, I look forward to more. I'll add them into graph done by Bionic-Badger.

Just for info...

I don't know whether you removed the ribbon from the diode pins while the diode was bare but the usual advice is to remove it before extracting it from the sled heatsink. It reduces the risk of killing the diode with heat.

There's a right tool for open anything ..... you just need to use the right tool .....

I mounted up one "flat" diode and it is a PITA !!!!!! They are a good diode however if you have the tooling to mount it in a heat sink.
