Alright here is the build.

Old host VS new.

p1015466.jpg

As you can see this unit poses a challenge to press the diode. Since my diode press from Flaminpryo is too fat I had to find another way.

p1015469.jpg

I pulled out my diode removal tool from Flaminpryo and removed the center screw since it is the right size for pressing the diode and is skinny enough not to hit the driver mount wall.

p1015472.jpg

I used a vice to press in the diode.

p1015470.jpg

I made sure when I put the diode in that the case pin was facing upwards so that I could solder it once it was pressed but that also left the pins backwards so the driver will have to be mounted sideways with some slack on the wires.

p1015474.jpg

I wired it all up and put some adhesive to hold the positive contact point on the module.

p1015485.jpg

Put the contact point in the module and let it set for 15 minutes and then screwed the module into the host.:D

p1015495.jpg

Threw in a battery and an Aixiz lens(was going quick and did not bother with the focus adapter yet) and did an LPM test. 1.4W with the Aixiz so it will be close to 1.6W with a G-1.:gun:

p1015494.jpg

I like it.:D This is a great option for the 14650 host.

How much is one of these hots? Or should I just PM him?

The host was $60.;)

Here is a funny one. I went to throw away the package that Ehgemus had sent my host in and found he had supplied a press tool.

I will have to try it out next time.

I love this one, Must be hard to fit both flex's in that bad boy! I have a few 1.8A drivers, but need two batteries. I think this host, made for two 14650's would be so bad ass at 1.8A!

That driver tray does seem perfect for that 1.8 driver huh? I can imagine a 2x18650 version of this would be sweet.

Or a 2X26500 host. Which would be a bit shorter.

Yep, I think I found the host for that 1.8A driver job. This pen host to fit to 18650's!

This will not be the standard module you will need to ask for it and it will be a few bucks extra.

Thanks. That is what I love of this hobby the most. Nothing more rewarding than building something that look as good as that.:D

It wouldn't be as bad if the answer to your question wasn't in the title :p

And crazyspaz was NOT necroposting, you were.

Good day sir
