1-1.3 Watt 445nm Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink ONLY $50!!

Re: FS: 1-1.2 Watt 445nm Laser Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink Only $50

Copper or aluminum? :D

Either. I just realized you added copper to the store :D So how many heatsinks are in stock altogether?

Over 100. How many do you need? ;)

Here's another cool new product, a stainless steel lens spring that goes around the outside of the lens for more precise focusing. Easy to adjust and holds its position better than Teflon tape, which needs to be replaced periodically. This spring is sized so that there is still a bit of room to compress when the lens is focused to infinity.

The ends of the spring are ground for smoother turning.

$20.25 plus shipping to LPF members via PM. $10 as an upgrade if you purchase with a Survival Laser bundle or host assembly.

None at the moment. I am trying to start a new laser business of my own, and saw the incredibly low prices on your website. If I get the funds to follow through with my laser company, I was planning to buy about 30-50 of your heatsinks to put in my own laser kits for re-sale. But it was just a thought, because right now it seems as though I wont be able to get enough money to follow through with my plan. I'll bookmark your website for future referance though :)

BTW, are those heatsinks made from copper 110?

Well good luck and don't lose sight of your dreams, I saw this sticker during a trip to Bryce Canyon just before launching Survival Laser :D

Thanks! I hope your business excells as well :)

Re: 1-1.2 Watt 445nm Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink ONLY $50!!

Which alloy specifically? I need to know the thermal conductivity before I consider purschaing your copper heatsinks.

Re: 1-1.2 Watt 445nm Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink ONLY $50!!

The alloy is 99.5% Cu and has a thermal conductivity of 355 W/m-K according to Matweb. This is about 91-93% of the thermal conductivity of C101 alloy (Oxygen-free electronic Copper at 99.99% Cu) at 383-391 W/m-K.

In comparison, 6061-T6 Aluminum alloy has a thermal conductivity of 167 W/m-K. So the Copper alloy we are using has a thermal conductivity of over 2.1 times that of the Aluminum alloy commonly used for laser heat sinks.

The ability to machine a finer finish using a harder alloy has an advantage in that better physical contact can be made with the diode or module and may easily compensate for a slightly lower theoretical thermal conductivity.

Re: 1-1.2 Watt 445nm Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink ONLY $50!!

Wait, I have a question. If this laser uses two RCR123a batteries in series, and each one only gives around 800ma, how do you get the laser to get 1.25 amps?

Re: 1-1.2 Watt 445nm Host Ass'ys w/Driver and Heat Sink ONLY $50!!

They can discharge greater than their rated capacity quite easily. I have an ecig that uses 2x 3.0v cr123as and while in use its pulling 1.25-1.3amps. Using same batteries for over a year now no problem.

I assume that he meant 800mAh, which is a rating of total power capacity, not discharge rate as you correctly noted.

I just wanted to share a photo of my finished Survival Lasers kit with a DTR A140 diode on the LPM.

Needless to say, I'm very happy!

hell yeah! i don't have a LPM but im assuming mines close to that, as it burns better than my yob 445 DID when i had it, and this kit was awesome, easy, and the tutorial is literally every single step. awesome, i might have to get another since its so cheap.

Hey that's great, overspec! I'd like to post that on the SL website if you don't mind.
