Re: 1.8W Ehgemus Custom 26650 Black Host

So it wasn't enough voltage? Also, doesn't the Flex have quite a bit better efficiency than the Boost?

Also, I am not sure how you wire the drivers in parallel, can you throw up a pic? From the host to the battery? Thanks :) Parallel confuses me. Heh

Voltage was fine(that is what the boost drive is for) was not enough current.

Here this thread will give you info on the dual drivers. Found it with a quick search:beer:

The voltage just dropped too much with double load on the battery.... hence the battery couldn't supply the needed current to provide for both circuits at the same time.

Sounds like a fatter battery is in order!
Something with more Amperage and less resistance going out.....4000mah?

Of course you could consider a longer host and do two 18650's end on end which would double the voltage and keep the amperage the same.....

I don't know if the dual circuit would maintain with that or not?... Seems that may be harder on the batteries though due to potential for more drastic voltage drops before it kicked out.

If you went with two 18650's in series the voltage would be above the max for the flex or boost drivers. But a good linear driver would work in that case. Since it would not be boosting the linear driver draws the same current that it is pushing. So if you have it set to 1.6A then it will be drawing 1.6A from the battery which can easily be handled by most all 18650 batteries.

I do have an 18650 with a 5.4A discharge that I tried in my this host last night and it works. The capacity is much less but we have a working substitute. :D

Dr. Frankenstein is creating a monster!!!.

Just think....where did modern cpu's come from.... a single transistor.. now its millions!

While we play with dual now.. what if you made one with 10?, 100?.... the possibilities are impressive.

Would be fun to light up the dark side of the moon when its in cresent.... LOL!

If I may ask, how long did you wait for the host? Man, white would look amazing with a 445 build! Props on this great looking build! +1

~2W What I have heard from DTRs test. After that, they go in a temporary LED like state

Ahem, this wasn't the first dual driver build you know...

I will be updating the above thread soon with focus ring mod... (Mine may not be first either of course! :D )

Still a great build in this thread. Well done to both the collaborators.
