[DTR]

This community can not move forward without the freely available information. I would not have the knowledge I have now if everyone was required to put in to receive. I ordered this unit expecting to cover the whole thing. It was an nice gesture from the people that pitched in. And I thank you guys for that but again everything will be documented and posted for all to benefit from it.:beer:

There are many members here who have taken plunges for this community and gotten nothing in return. There are also many people have contributed volumes here, both in terms of knowledge and engineering expertise. I don't think it would be right to set a precedent that only those who have paid cash for a specific group buy should be privy to any information gleaned in the process.

I understand and agree completely. I just don't want DTR (or anyone) to be taken advantage of in this situation (or any). I just meant that the people who said they would pay for a diode, should. (And i'm not saying they won't either!)

I let DTR know that I would pay for my diode tomorrow(Friday). Now I see we all have 2 hours to pay suddenly. I said I would pay and I will...always have on purchases here...I just feel the 2 hour time limit is sudden.
This is DTR's projector....and DTR's offer and i'm thankful for the offer and looking forward to his information and hopefully a diode too.

He did...Good man that DTR, got right back to me. Got my host, drivers and batteries all ready for another build...and these diodes(hopefully) will make a good one.....(Unless they put ONE diode in there and a whole bunch of lens)

Guys, I think you're misinterpreting Hak...

I believe all he's saying is that the "unveiling" should maybe be kept quiet for a day or two to give some time and incentive for people to make good on the diode commitments.

I don't think he's saying that the information should be withheld permanently or even for very long, or anything like that.

He was probably just talking in terms of "today" to try and poke people a bit about making good for DTR, who went out on a limb for this with the possibility of it being a hefty loss.

I don't think anyone believes that information about diodes or harvested parts should be kept hidden. Just kind of a "few hours early" carrot if you did pay.

Correct me if I'm wrong there Hak, but I don't think anyone was talking about keeping this info secret .

Not necesseraly if its a super efficient diode that produces very little heat but we would probably need something else than a simple aixis module + lens to mount it on
