Hi. I haven't got my first real laser yet (not counting cat toy lasers). I'm planning on buying a JL 445nm Pl-pro 1.6 watt. INB4: I know the dangers of that sort of powers and am going that far so I don't have to buy a new one in the future. I'm planning on putting it on low power mode and maybe buying a training lens (if anyone has any good recommendations for training lenses tell me). Well, thats it. I will for sure do a video unboxing and a text/video review when I buy it.

Welcome to LPF genericname!

A J/L PL-E Pro 445nm is a great product, I'm sure you'll be happy with it; it's a big step up from a cat toy though. :)
How are you planning to use this on low power mode, using only one cell, AFAIK, there is no specific low power function on this laser?
To be honest, I've never heard of any type of training lens for a J/L product.

Have fun, be safe, and enjoy your stay.

I just checked and you are right there isnt any low power mode. About the training lense, arent most lense attachments universal or at a standard?

The J/L PL-E Pro's have a built in lens which is easily focusable, but not removable or easily changable.
You could add a beam expander to possibly defocus the beam even more, but you are not reducing the output power other than through losses due to the optics themselves.

The best idea is probably to use glasses and be careful

edit: *high quality glasses (ie. Eagle pair, JL glasses (which seem to be nock off eagle pair)

Welcome to the forum. As a Newcomer to laser be sure to read up on laser safety, eyes don't grow back. The unit your buying is a powerful laser can do some serious permanent damage. So enjoy that beauty and be safe. :)

A training ‘lens’ is actually a lens cap with an od filter. WL used to supply them on their arctics many yesterday ago. Not sure if they still do.
