Before i posted this i went through every post you've made as a new member here and i didn't see anything that calls for this kind of treatment of a person that really seem to not know much about lasers but is showing a possible new found interest in them, Could i be wrong and this guy really is a old troll from this forums past that i know nothing about ? Yes, Absolutely ! But i don't think asking for low level IP scans and copies of his birth certificate or pass port is the answer, Gees guys just try for a second to see it from his perspective and walk in his newbie shoes for a minute if you can, Oh and think about fact he is living in Norway and not Brooklyn.......

Asking for my cell number and thus decloaking my real identity should never be asked for.

Especially considering most of us are breaking the law.

I understand you've been plagued by trolls and sophisticated persistent trolls can be a pain in the ass.

I don't know what more I could do though to prove I'm not here to troll.

You have a lot to learn about common courtesy though.

Harassing newbies isn't exactly some kind of sign of strength or superiority.

I hate to post this, but this is getting way too out of hand. You guys can't be interrogating every new member that logs on like this, eye problems notwithstanding. All 4 access IPs from dontblindmebro's account are based in Norway, not like that will be enough for you guys anyway.

Besides, let's say he is a "returning banned member", what's it to you? If it doesn't affect you in the first place, why get involved in such a conspiracy. One thing everyone should know is the mods are often running IP checks on anything that's remotely suspicious and any previously logged account IPs are linked to each other and visible to us if that's the case.

I don't like what I'm seeing and can only hope this stops some time soon, I'd expect better from some of you.

I've left this now a while ago. He has proved he's from Norway, so I'll let him be. It was his initial attitude and the same old question that made me question. But he's cooperated so I'll give him another chance and forget this.

i don't understand why he won't let me call him to confirm, it isn't unreasonable to deny, but at the same time those pic's could easily be found on the net. This forum isn't a druggie forum, no one has said they would ever post his name or any of that. Regardless, I still suspect this is someone's sock, until I can get something better. All of this is due to the forum so easily allowing members to join and create multiple accounts very easily, if we had in place a better system these suspicions wouldn't exist so easily. However, there is no approval process and yahoo or other accounts can be used to join which are easy to make multiple ID's from. You don't even need to verify your email address to join, you can make a completely fake non-existent one and it is accepted!


These suspicions are due to the way the forum is so open and so easy to create multiple accounts, and...... the many abuses over the last couple of years I've seen with members creating multiple accounts, especially after and just before being banned.

A member had suggested he take a piece of paper or a newspaper and write his member name on it, he didn't do that. This is probably coming way too far out scrutiny but part of it is because he won't do as requested to clear it up, gives something much less than asked for. Acc chiming in is just more nose thumbing, if you ask me he might be wrapped up in this himself. If you are sincere there are easy ways to clear this up and put egg on my face, do it!

I wouldn't give this a second thought, except he posted troll-like stuff and chose a member name to match, I still say BS!

Either block the person you disagree with or we'll need to start giving people who continue to fill up threads with this nonsense a 'break'. :/

If he IS a troll, all of this drama is EXACTLY what he wanted. The best thing to do with these 'suspicious' threads is to simply give one line of straightforward advice such as "Go see a doctor, we cannot help you with your problem". If the OP is trolling they'll get bored from the lack of drama and troll accusations. If they aren't trolling then they get the advice they need anyway. Basically there's no need for these threads to snowball like they do.

Also, checking the IPs is mostly pointless. There are plenty of proxy websites which let you hide your real location and choose your spoofed location.
