What a load of horse shit. The amount of blatant BS completely disgusts me...The good thing is, with kickstarter if the project isn't delivered or is complete BS, they are forced to return the money to the backers (if I have read correctly). Hopefully someone can call these douchewads out before people actually pay for this nonsense.

What a scam. It's a bit infuriating, really; both that they are making such bogus claims, and that people are ignorant enough to believe it. Really, REALLY irritating.

I've only backed one kickstart (Shoud of the Avatar game). Is there not a way to report a kickstarter campaign?

EDIT - Found it at the bottom of the page when logged in, I reported it.

we're not actually burning the hair

Then what in Rod's name is the mechanism for removing the hair?

Any why show a guy burning his arm hair if it's not relevant at all?

It's kinda funny how they managed to reach over $750k with still 20 days to go. I wonder if this gets taken down.

I'll take razor burns over laser burns any day thank you very much. Feel bad for those folks who got taken by these guys.

I hear the lasers inside will summon magical miniature white lab-coat wearing scientists who will pluck each individual hair. Painlessly.

I heard it summoned a clan of tiny laser katana wielding ninjas who used their mastery of laser fu to slice each hair perfectly. Man...one of us got lied to.

Or maybe, somehow... We all got lied to..? Pshh, nah. No way they'd lie to us...

We're probably just being paranoid. Likely it's scientists AND ninjas.

I'm not saying this will work, but they could be using a direct diode operating on the >1.5um IR, for which the MPE is one or two orders of magnitude higher than visible light.

They could have found a particular WL on that range that is highly absorbed by hair and could cut it "easily" with, say, 200mW, assuming the whole fiber-discharges-focused-laser-on-a-tiny-spot thing works (based on the newest video it seems it kind of works).

The design wouldn't be that complicated and the power level seems compatible with what is shown on their videos and also with the form factor and AAA batt.

This leaves the burning hair smell and the shaving speed. I can't really see this being fast enough to be useful.

I have to say, using a laser to cut hair smells horrible. I've used a 445nm diode at 1w when focused up close it easily cuts dark hair. The smell is horrendous though.

Lol in that video do they not know how to shave? You shave with the direction of the hair not against it otherwise you get burns.

Honestly, I don't get it. What part of this is a laser? They say it melts the hair, but
"Q. Does it produce a smell?"
"A. No. Because we're not actually burning the hair, it doesn't produce a burnt hair smell."

fpwhuah?
Also, geebus fúck. Almost a million dollars. Can't wait to see how this pans out.

I'm buying it because I'm sure they use the word "technology" in there somewhere (couldn't bring myself to actually look at it).
I am so sick and tired of everything out there having ___________ "technology". You would have to be living in a cave to not notice that word being thrown about with every "new" gadget out there.

I love seeing laundry detergent commercials use phrases like "micro-bubble technology" and "white-brightening technology" and whatever. Good stuff.

Damn, spyro was ahead of his time... he invented something similar years ago.
I saved the design, I knew it would come in handy (mmmm handys)
